Minors & Airsofting.

Postby JohnnyBoii » Thu Nov 03, 2011 1:40 pm

I personally don't like hearing minors have airsoft replicas, unless:

[code]- At least 15 years of age
- They know their stuff
- They know how to treat their replica
- They know where it is proper to use/have their replicas[list]

All it took was one minor to ruin all of our reps. Not all minors are ignorant. I know quite a few who are mature and own airsoft replicas. They know their stuff and they only use them at airsoft events. I wish adult airsofters would realize that.

Personally I think you should be a minimum of 15 to own airsoft replicas & go through a training course before they purchase their first.

I went through a 2 day course before I bought my first replica.

I understand where they are coming from. Minors have given airsoft a bad name, but still.

15, how convenient just one age below you
publicly it should be 18 because that's what it says on EVERY manual that comes with an Airsoft gun

I don't think anyone under 18 should be running >350fps. I've been shot too many times by kids who don't have enough wits about them to call safety kills with high powered guns.

This topic comes up a lot...

I'm not defending minors because I know they are the reason for a lot of bad media about airsoft... But there are non-retarded ones out there. It really comes down to the individual and how much common sense they absorbed from their parents.

I think under 18 year olds should be only allowed to use rubber training knives

The stupidest thing I've seen done at an airsoft game was done by someone over the age of 18.
I haven't read a manual in years, but I think it just says you need to be over 18 to purchase, not own.
Also those under 18 aren't people and don't have rights.
