Mt. Hood

Postby hushpuppy » Mon Dec 05, 2011 9:27 pm

Is there a place on or near Mt. Hood that is safe for airsoft?
I'd like to go soon so we can airsoft in the snow. If there's no designated place, would anybody care if we went anyways? Away from people, that is, so nobody that is not participating will not get hurt.

Mt Hood Meadows sounds like a good spot.

If it's public forestry land you can pretty much do what you want. If it's private property, then no.

Isn't most of the forest area around Mt Hood a state park. As in puplic land that we play on.

I don't have the skill or patience to make this an event but if somebody wants to start a WWII russian front game, I'm signed up with the germans.

A WWII Eastern Front airsoft game, especially one in the snow, is just not going to happen here. There is not enough interest in this area.

As for making an AP calender winter mountain airsoft event, I think it's pointless. Most people don't have the equipment or experience to attend such an event. Plus, the flake out rate would be insane. It's better just to have an invitational event with a small amount of people for this sort of thing.

If you think it's going to work, and you're willing to make it happen, then do it.

If you want to go on a winter event, CAG has winter events planned with skis and snow shoes and overwhites between now and February.

Like I said, I don't have the skill to plan one...
Would anyone want to do this? WWII in the snow?
but would you post a link to those events if you don't mind please?

What exactly would your "WW2" event in the snow be like?

Battle of the Bulge? (sitting in freezing trenches and getting shelled)
Battle of Stalengrad? (send wave after wave of men into German guns, wait for winter to freeze the germans)
The Finnland Winter War? (Finns race around on skiis killing Russians)

Personally, I'm all for a winter WWII battle and airsofting out in the snow. I'm just being realistic about how it would turn out here based on what I've seen.

Also, Variable has a good point.
