Pellet Speed Testing

Postby Orwell » Mon Jan 16, 2012 4:18 pm

Where can I get the speed on my gun tested? I know they do this kind of thing at events, but if there's a 330FPS limit I'd like to know I can pass BEFORE I pay $30 and drive 4 hours. ;)

South Portland area preferably. Willing to pay a little. Thanks!

Tac Ops might do it for you before you enter there indoor field. they are on 122th by the air port. We could do it at Camp R&R but we are about 1 hr from you.

Thanks guys. I'll give Tac Ops a call. Someone also recommended a place in Hillsboro. I have their card. Worst case I'll drive an hour. Who knows, there are a lot of reasons to visit AONW. Maybe I'll bring some spending money. ;)

I know this is a slight necro, but I thought that the information might be good to have available for others too.

Give a few paintball places a call, the radar chrono's do work for BB's, and one of them might be willing to do this for you.

You can always poor-man's chrono as well. If it only punctures one side of a Coca Cola can, it's probably not shooting over 330. It's not an exact science, but it's relatively accurate.

Actually the radar chronographs are not accurate for Airsoft, according to the manufacturer. It can mis-read FPS over 400, the maximum FPS limit for paintball everywhere is 300. They aren't designed for guns shooting from 400 or up to 550 like some of our sniper rifles shoot.
