only until the hop-up rubber dissolves, then we'll see how accurate it is

WD will destroy the replica, period. no matter what immediate benefits *may* be present

It is stickied.

WD-40 can be used on just about everything. It is safe for metal, rubber, wood and plastic. WD-40 can be applied to painted metal surfaces without harming the paint. Polycarbonate and clear polystyrene plastic are among the few surfaces on which to avoid using a petroleum-based product like WD-40.

so in that case it would you be safe in the barrel, it sounds like it is safe as along as you dont get any on the piston or is my imagination going to far?

Well, after reading numerous reports from Google about wd-40 eating up ABS, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I am doing this two ways:

1. called WD-40 and they will get back to me tomorrow about the usage on plastics (dos and do nots)

2. I sprayed WD-40 on some ABS plastic. We'll see in a few days.

No incubus the rubbing alcohol should not hurt the paint we use it at the body shop I work at specificaly for plasitc cleaning because the surface cleaner we use eats plastic and alcohol works great and is alot cheaper than plastic surface cleaner. Just my 2 cents

I have found any silicones that are listed as 'food grade' will be without petroleum distalates and if good enough to eat should be welcome on most AEG's. I get the place I work at from graingers but Winks hardware has a good one also. I just bought some from graingers and it came as a pump sprayer, not pressurized and dispenses almost like water, opaque and slippery when wet viscousity.
