Trigger does not reset on semi auto

Postby BobTheRabbit » Sat Jul 27, 2013 6:48 pm

So my buddy's G&G Raider is having an issue. the trigger does not reset when in semi auto. It works fine in full auto. We have changed the trigger spring, changed the cutoff lever and cleaned the trigger switch. All have had ZERO effect. Just looking for more opinions before we try something extreme.

Thanks

What else could it be?

It feels like a normal trigger pull. After it fires, the trigger does not go back to the forward position. You have to push it forward to fire again. This only happens in semi-auto. Full auto functions normally.

You have a broken trigger post, either get a new gearbox shell or have someone drill and put in a set screw in that sucker.

no dice, this is not the issue. if a trigger post is broken the trigger lever is not able to engage the trolley because the trolley is able to move farther back than the trigger travels.

here is my understanding of the problem:
when firing in semi auto the gun works like normal (fires a single shot then cuts off) with the exception that the trigger lever has to be manualy pushed forward after every shot because it sticks in the rearward position. but functions normaly when in the full auto firing position.

here is my diagnosis:
the trigger lever is getting wedged by the trolley when the trolley kicks back into the starting position it might not even be going to full reset because its getting wedged by the trigger. another problem could be your trigger lever spring is broke or has some other problem. the reason you are only having this problem in semi auto, is because when in full auto the cutoff lever does not kick the trolley off the trigger lever and enable it to get wedged, or because the spring on the trolley helps pull the trigger lever back into the reset position.

hope this helps.

Unless you work on guns already, take it to a shop.
Don't totally destroy your gun.

Open the gearbox and look for a broken part...

Yes I just rewired my M4 version two gearbox to the rear using the existing wire without issues and once I had everything back together everything seemed the same except for the explained trigger issue... I also do not have a trustworthy tech shop near me that I know of and I really can't spend a fortune if I do find a airsoft mechanic :?
