M4 Quality?

Postby NAirsoft » Sun Sep 20, 2015 6:10 pm

Which of the two M4's is of a higher quality and more advanced?
1. http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/4067-ga ... black.aspx
2. http://www.evike.com/products/41216

Thanks :D

G&G would be my guess. I haven't heard of APS, but their "The all new APS Silver Edge Gearbox utilizes a unique polishing technique to remove burrs and surface imperfections from the gearbox shell." sounds like a gimmick since if your gears are touching your gearbox, you've got bigger problems than just burs...
G&G is a well known company that makes a good product.

Have you considered the A&K M4's? http://www.evike.com/products/38571/ or http://www.evike.com/products/27721/

I have been running a moderately modified CBQ one for 4 something years now, and couldn't be happier.

Stay the hell away from APS, as someone who's been burned twice by those bastards.
Just run away!

If you want a good metal gun other than the G&G,(which is good too) check out Echo1, Classic Army, Krytec, VFC, ASG, or ICS.

@ClownBaby Thank You! I'm really confused because you go on Evike and you see these APS products like the one I listed above and it has 14 reviews, all above four stars, and then I see a lot of other people on forums and stuff saying to completely stay away from them. Maybe APS is uping there game, but I don't know that for sure that's why I'm reaching out to you guys to figure it out. Thanks.

APS has cool designs, but their manufacturing and quality control sucks!

I'm sure the majority of the reviews on Evike for any entry level gun are made by 14 year olds, who probably have never had any airsoft gun, other than maybe a Walmart special. So to them they're good.

I sent you a PM with more info, check your box.

Don't trust Evike.
There are people who will tell you different, but they have done some shady stuff in the past and it wouldn't surprise me if they pad their "review" sections. They are a great site to shop, but unless they are the ONLY place you can get it, shop for it on evike, buy it somewhere else.

SocomGear makes some pretty nice AEGs. IIRC they take VFCs and brand them so they've got branding rights from Noveske, DD, PWS, Barrett and some others. I know they're a partner company with Madbull who has some outstanding products.

+2 to ICS

They do little modifications to common platforms to avoid licencing issues in order to give you a great and reliable gun for not too high a price. They will not steer you wrong.

To answer the original question, I would go with the second one 'cuz it looks cooler and do some gearbox work if it doesn't perform how I want it to.
