AEG not firing w/ no noise or any response.

Postby MySwan » Mon Jan 18, 2016 12:39 am

As the title says. I recently just put it back together with a new trigger and it fired a few times and then when i took the battery out and put it back in it no longer worked. No clicking noise battery is fully charged, adjusting the motor doesn't do jack and even with the motor out of the pistol grip it doesnt spin with the contacts on. I also replaced the motor contacts because the original crimp ones broke.

Check the fuse.

Or you screwed up the motor contacts.

I don't have a fuse. I will check the contacts.

Also check your new trigger and trigger contacts to make sure they are operating properly. If you have a volt meter, you can put it on the motor contacts when you pull the trigger to see if it's a trigger contact issue or motor issue.

I might be able to get a volt meter and do that. I'll check the motor contacts first though cause I really don't want to open my gearbox up again.

It was definitely charged but it's an old NiMh so
Maybe it coincidentally decided to die out on me right after I put my gun back together?

Like its out of cycles you know? When you have like an old smartphone the battery lasts like 5 minutes.

Also I don't know if this is the right term but my motor might be over spinning. After shooting in semi my piston will stay pulled back a little bit and I can barely push the nozzle into the GB. Could that be causing some of the problems?

Now I'm confused.

From the last time my gun was working the piston stays pulled back a little bit after being shot on semi. So right now the piston is pulled back a little AND my motor does not spin even when it is out of the gearbox and connected. Two separate problems.

Your gearbox may be locked up. You need to disengage the antireversal latch to let the piston go forward.

But of the motor doesn't spin outside of the gun it's an electrical issue first. Figure out where the issue is in the following chain:

Battery>trigger contacts> motor

That's where your electrical issue will be located. Solve that and we can move on to the next issue.

How do I disengage the anti reversal latch? Do I have to open the gearbox? Also I was going to test it with my friend's battery but he forgot to drop it off so we will have to see tomorrow on the electrical issue.
