Looking for a 600mm ish barrel for JG BAR10

Postby Cyclops » Fri May 10, 2013 9:31 pm

I currently have a 510mm (I believe) 6.01 inner barrel in my JG BAR10 gun. My FPS is about 575 fps and I'm looking at possibly getting a 590 mm to 610 mm 6.03 barrel. Hoping that switching to an .03 instead of the .01 and a slightly longer barrel will bring the fps down some. Looking at barrels I have found a barrel a barrel but it says it's for an AEG. Will this work on a sniper gun too? My hop up is the original one with the gun. Here is the link I have been looking at for the barrel. http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?c ... s_id=24392 . Will this work or is there another one that will work better? With my silencer the largest I can go is a 620 mm. So I'd like to stick as close to 600mm as possible. Any input on this will be great appreciated.

To figure out what barrel you have currently measure it out in inches, then multiply by 25.4 to get the length in mm. You can also do this to get an idea of how long your new barrel is going to be in your bar-10, 600mm is going to be 23.63 inches long
When in doubt, empty the mag.

why do you want a 600mm barrel? what will that do for you? after like 500mm its not going to change accuracy much, just kill fps

Far be it for me to assume that this same concept applies to Airsoft as it does airrcannons as I am relatively new to Airsoft, but if you increase the chamber volume and pressure then you would need a longer barrel for increased distance. Granted its a fine ballance but I could see a 600mm/6.01 tightbore barrel with something like a bore up kit and a high power spring being a good match.
When in doubt, empty the mag.

IF you were to read me 1st post again you would see that I'm trying to bring my fps down a little. I want to shoot roughly 530 to 550so I can play in the games and not be to hot. Figure from switching from a 6.01 510mm barrel to a 6.03 590 barrel would help lower my fps to regulation level for local games. With my silencer on I can run a barrel that would roughly be 620mm with out sticking out.

You don't need that long of a barrel. Also the length will cancel out the 6.03. Just put a new spring in, that's the easiest and most reliable way.

Also try maneuvering through the brush with a bolt rifle with suppressor attached. It's a phony pony.

yeah a new spring is the best way to go and if your gun is accurate enough, it should be able to shoot threw the silencer without clipping it easily
