Good Sniper Rifles

Postby T-Time » Fri Feb 20, 2015 4:34 pm

Hey Guys,
I am looking to buy a bolt action sniper rifle that is at least 500 fps and is below two hundred dollars.
Has anyone gotten one that they have really enjoyed or would recommend?
I'm kind of leaning towards one off of Evike.
Any Suggestions?

Thanks

I really like my TSD96. About $180 and upgrades can come when ever and use all L96 upgraded parts.

LOLhe said under $200. I wont go into what I've spent on the last 4 sniper builds I have done. BUT yes with the upgrades it will cost a pretty penny.

I'm at about $500 into my build (which I've been working on for about 6 years).

You might want to look into a used sniper gun....... Some of the upgrades already installed and fraction of the cost. I had a Bar10 put about $800 into it and then sold it for $300. Ya I could have pieced it out but I just wanted the whole thing gone. I'm sure there is a few of us active snipers that could help guide you in a good sniper gun and not get ripped off. You'll be very surprised on how easy it is to work on these guns. Shoot I'm legally blind with only one eye and I can tinker with it. If you need some help I'll step up if your in the area or at a swap meet I'm at.
If you buy a used one you will save money and find what you don't like and what you do like so later on down the road you'll have a good idea of what your looking for and what pieces go where.

And you beaned me in the noggin by the sand bunkers... felt sooo good.

T-Time, you can borrow one of mine (yes i have three) for a game and see if you like the role before you invest. Most people don't, they try it a game or two and go back to AEG. PM if interested.

So true. A lot go back. Only a couple reason I do it.....
1. I'm old and I move like a 75 yr old man
2. Drink a beer and have a cigar

Yeah, I built a $500 sniper rifle. Granted, it didn't cost me that out of pocket--I had the compressed air system left over from playing paintball.

I have a LOT more fun with my SAW. So, yeah....

Ogre, I'll take that rifle back if it's just collecting dust.

Hmm....you'll use it over yours? You want the HPA system and the airline that runs to the magazine and all that?

I've never been happy with the hopup that's in it. What I really should do is give it to Bill and let him rebuild it. It's accurate, but it's not "super accurate."

So, yeah, we can talk about it.

Read this thread first. http://airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=31216 read all of it. It's only 5 pages long and it's good information.
Then this one http://airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php?t=32664
Then read this one http://airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=25324

Then use the search function search for anything relating to "sniper rifle" or "Bar 10" read stuff that you think doesn't apply to you, and read others threads on searching for a sniper rifle, you will start to see a pattern of opinions and you will see the prominent members repeating the same things over and over. It's not because they like talking it's because THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. Listen to them, they have done your research for you. Let them be your guide. If you start to think, maybe they don't know what they are talking about, remember you don't know what you are talking about, so heed their advice. And lastly realize that when people talk about "cheap" sniper rifles cheap is a word that directly relates to how expensive it COULD be. They don't mean $200 or less. $200 is what you spend on just the rifle. You can use it out of the box, but over time it IS going to need some upgrades, you are going to want some upgrades. A GREAT, cheap airsoft rifle will run you somewhere in the range of $500 after all is said and done, and that doesn't include the time and energy you put into it.
About 2 years ago I bought an old worn out Classic Army M24 as a bone yard piece for the great price of around $115, I have spent another $150 in upgraded parts just to get her running, which I finally did this year. And am looking at probably another $100 to finish the project, an that doesn't include the 50+ hours I have already spent working on her or the 50+ I will spend doing adjustments, to get her working right (and then the year of tweaking to get her just right) Sniping is not easy, and to do it right takes time and money. There is no other way to look at it.

Sure, I'll take it all if you don't want to use it. Or I can "hold on to it" until you decide you want it back...
