Ogre,
You have a 2 year grace period to renew your license before having to retest.

KF7UOR

Wuxoun UV3D with upgraded antenna (2.5dB in the 70 cm band), tested crystal clear at 3.2 miles so far, my house to Brett's house. Have the SMA coax needed for raising a mast (20 ft AGL). I should be able to cover all of Snipers Den. Plus some.

I'll make a RDF antenna this summer sometime.

You can cover all of Snipers Den with the stock antenna... With my UV3D and SRJ77CA Diamond antenna, I can be found on a repeater 25miles away. I've hit the same repeater at 50+ miles from Silverton. Was your 3.2 mile QSO simplex or through a repeater?

Oh, that's good info. I looked a couple of times online and couldn't find a form or a contact number for that. I can't log onto their online system, either. Any help?

FCC Form 605.

http://transition.fcc.gov/Forms/Form605/605main.pdf

No fee due for amateur radio, unless yours is a vanity call sign.

Mail to:
Federal Communications Commission
1270 Fairfield Road
Gettysburg, PA 17325-7245

Hope that helps.

Hey ogre,
If you want to try an online renewal this is a good place to start http://wireless.fcc.gov/services/index.htm?job=cft&id=amateur&page=cft_renew_amateur, but as per the excellent info provided by Wombat you can go almost foolproof with real paper.

Haven't been on the air a lot but I plan on wiring up the shop trailer. My call is KE7QVL. I actually think I will do this before the next splat action game so I can monitor and keep you guys safe in case of emergency. You all use 70 cm when your in action correct?
