Most AP Sponsors have decent gear.

Read. Google. Investigate. Search YouTube for "airsoft coms". Then come back with questions. :) Good luck in your hunt, sir!

Everything I can find indicates that the GP68 is not type accepted for use in the United States.

I suggest you rethink your comms plan. WHy were you going to use these particular radios when something like the Midland blister pack would better suit your needs?

Do you have a ham license? Whats that you say? No? Then buy some FRS radios, they will work fine. I for one love my Motorolla Talkabouts. And seriously, just go on AONW/Evike/AirsoftGI/Ehobby/AirsoftClub and find some replica sordins and a PTT. It shouldn't take you longer than 10 minutes to find everything.

Several of my teammates use (actually, try to use) GP68 radios and have constant problems transmitting successfully with US spec radios. Stick with the Talkabout class or step up to a business level Motorola/Icom radio.

*facepalm*
You've spent longer reading replies in this thread than it would have taken you to go find the product you want.

One of the reason for this website, is so people can ask questions.

I agree! However, one of the biggest problems we have is with people asking the same questions, or people asking questions that they could answer without effort. This question could be solved on any major airsoft dealer's website. Now, as far as "is exhibit A or B better?", that's a whole other matter. Expert opinion is great. However, he's been given all the possible pertinent information for the moment. Now it's time to swim out on his own. :)

EDIT: Just saw some swimming. OP: As far as the Puxing-888's go, here's a site with some helpful reviews. I believe that this particular product is a HAM Radio, and will require licensing to use.

Airsoft communications take place on FRS channels.

FRS channels have a couple of restrictions as to what types of radios you can use on them. Mainly, the radios must transmit no more than .5watts of energy, and must have a permanent antenna. This excludes any and all ham radios as they transmit more than .5W and generally have removable antennas. This means that you should stick with Motorola Talkabout and Midland blister pack type radios.
