Kenwood TK2302V FRS compatibility

Postby Darius137 » Tue Dec 04, 2012 9:01 pm

I'm just wondering about this radio I have. It states its' frequencies as 136-174 MHz / VHF / FM.

I'm wondering if I can program this to work with FRS or other users on the battlefield, or iCom normal channels or what.

Sorry, radio slow guy.

My understanding: No

1.) This is a VHF radio (136-174 MHz), and FRS are in the UHF frequency range, higher than VHF (Very High Frequency, vs. Ultra High Frequency)

136-174mhz = 2m (VHF)
440-460mhz = 70cm (UHF)

So, no.
