Program Baofeng UV82 with Mac OSX?

Hey AP!

I recently purchased a pair of Baofeng UV82 radios along with the programming software/cable. The included software is Windows/PC only. As a Mac owner, I have been referencing Baofeng's download page (https://baofengtech.com/download) to work on this.

I have two MacBooks running OSX 10.9.5 & 10.5.8. Python software will not install on 10.9 but does successfully install on the 10.5 machine. I have also installed Chirp & the FTDI chip software (www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm) on the 10.5 machine but I cannot get the Chirp program to open.

Any thoughts on how to make this work? Thanks a lot!!

Most radio programs are meant to be used with either Windows or Linux.

Google chirp . Looks like they've got a Mac version. Easier software to use, too. Oh, wait, you said you've already done that.

Maybe redownload Chirp?
