Battle of the Glocks (17)!

Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

Battle of the Glocks (17)!

Postby Chowdberg » Tue Jan 28, 2014 3:00 pm

Hello everyone. I come before you with an inquiry.

I'm still relatively new to the world of gas blow back pistols, and from what friends have told me, two Glock 17 replicas are the ones to get. The Stark Arms Glock 17 or the KSC Glock 17.

You wonderful peoples haven't steered me the wrong way, yet. What are your opinions on:

This KSC:

OR

This Stark Arms:

I'm just looking for personal opinions, experiences, and criticisms. Have at it!
I'd tell you to be careful. It's not the Tank you need to fear.
It's Slumberman

Comrade, just got APS ACP. Very loud, very heavy, kicks like russian mule. Best part, ehh? Mighty co2 cartridge works better in bitter cold. ClownBaby out. (In my cheesy Russian accent)

I've been quite pleased with my KWA ATP. Wouldn't trade it for anything*.

*Ok maybe an M11 or something :D

I would literally do anything to get my hands on a KSC they are very good guns and I just wish they still made the G18 model but ASGI has them marked down as discontinued. The G17 is still available on Airsplat though about $20 more than a KWA ATP though. Personally I would go KWA over KSC but the KSC is still a good gun.I know that KWA wasn't part of the question, but I don't really have anything to say about Stark good or bad, and I only have good things to say about KWA.

KSC=KWA

The best Glock to get hands down is a TM. The Stark and WE are a clone of them, but they aren't made with magical fairies so they suck. I've had a KWA and KSC G18C, KSC 26C and TM 17 and the TM was the best Glock I've ever owned. The range is better than the KSC, the aftermarket parts support is better, the build is better, the feel is better, and working on them is better. If you plan on hanging onto it for a while, a TM with a Guarder metal slide will last for eves.

If you're looking for something cheap cause your the average airsofter, then get the Stark.

Just get a used Glock for a few hundo more and you'll be much more happy. You maybe use a pistol in airsoft 1% of the time. Shooting inanimate objects outside of airsoft is much more fulfilling.

KWA is not exactly KSC. While they are parts compatible, there are often different specs in Taiwan, Japan, and US versions. Some have different valves or spring strengths, and may or may not all work the same.

I have to agree with Jester that, if you want a new Glock replica that will last and work well, the BEST option is a Tokyo Marui with a custom slide on it. This will give you good performance, great reliability, and has a lot of upgrade parts options.

The STARK is a TM clone, but it will take more than the price of the TM to make it work correctly.

The APS ACP is an affordable not a glock that shoots well because it doesn't take much precision to make it cycle using CO2. It kicks super hard, but it uses CO2 and doesn't look exactly like a Glock. But it kicks super hard.

I said the same thing until I got a pistol worth a damn. Now I feel like a flipping mad man running through corners and capping people with my ATP. I ran my pistol all day until the spring guide got stuck. It was so much fun with a 200 lumen light attached. :dual: Pretty much get anything that has a 50rnd magazine available.

Better yet is pistol dueling. By far the manliest way to settle airsoft disputes.

Generally when we post opinions on how useful a airsoft weapon is on here we're referring to usefulness in the NW where 99% of the fields are outdoor.

Again co2 is your friend. I've been leaving my ACP in a VERY COLD part of my house, and it's working great. Getting two and a half magazines out of one cartridge. I'm sure that will improve when it is hot outside and I leave the gun in the sun. As far as looks go, I carry a real Glock everyday, and it's close enough. Bonuses include glow in the dark sites, lanyard hole, and has flatter front on trigger guard, which allows for more light options.
