Umm... I'm pretty sure MY birthday party wasn't at the CAGE, because I know for certain that Dan was dancing at my birthday party in a bra... He ate some rank cheese and drank Bud Light and had a go at puking on my dog too... :?

Anyways!

In all honesty, Oregon Airsoft Arena is an enjoyable place for me to go. If you go there on Sunday when there's less of a crowd, and play in the later hours it can be pretty fun. The main issues there are the noobs, and invincible kiddies. I feel like it should be required for them to brief safety kills and taking hits every 3 hours. (You pay to play on a 3 hour basis.)

That's cool but we don't do safety kills in CQB.

We may not, but I went to that arena once, and they talked about safety kills, which confused me. It's close quarters, so what range is an appropriate "safety kill"? Either way, I was there once, even though it was kid filled, it was still enjoyable, and they (err... some of them) were respectable and didn't act invincible. A nice place to go to occasionally, I guess.

What? Who WOULDN'T want to do that? It's legal, it's fun and it's not too pricey!

When was the last time you played CQB? There are plenty of people at OAA including myself that safety kill a lot! If you really want to abide by what you're saying... I'll have to be more weary about shooting you from 5 feet away more often. ;)

Way I see it, you use safety kills because people are expecting ranged, slower pace combat outside. In a CQB match it's pretty constant pressure, pretty constant damage. Expect welts. Wear a mask. Suck it up. ;)

When I say we, I mean Airsoft Pacific. When I host an indoor scenario event I don't allow safety kills. You have to be able to think and make quick decisions. That's the whole point of CQB. When you take out the shooting and you start using verbal commands you are defeating the whole purpose of CQB. Plus, for most CQB events it's recommended that more protective gear be worn.

Outdoor safety kills are different. Maybe a guy is in a low crawl and he has no idea he is crawling right up into your position. You could shoot him in the face, the only target that presents itself, or you could use a safety kill and save him the pain. People who play CQB are expecting to get shot up close.

But I don't do the Airsoft equivalent of speedball, maybe it's nice to have safety kills in that case. I wouldn't know, I've only ever done scenario events.

There are two main problems with safety kills indoors, or at least two situations where they become problematic.

#1: They take too long. It takes two to three seconds to call a safety kill. It takes a fraction of a second to bring a weapon on target and shoot someone. So, when two guys end up going head to head in a small space, it generally doesn't work. Either somebody shoots anyway, or both guys end up trying to call the other one out, which leads to bickering about who would have shot whom way more often than it should.

#2: People try to call safety kills when they are hiding in cover and hear someone on the other side of their cover moving up. Generally speaking, if I know somebody is in cover, I have the advantage. I get to pick when I come around the corner, how fast and at what vector I cut the pie, and what part(s) of me is exposed where when I do come around the corner. Safety kills should require that the person calling them has the drop on the other guy, and if you are cowering in the corner, you've got nothing. Now, they can try to turn the tables and pop out on me as I move up, and that is a horse of an entirely different color. But calling a safety kill when you are hiding is just bullshit.

OH MY, COOL STORY BRO, YOUR MOM BUY IT FOR YOU?

My mom buys all my gear. True story. Not afraid to admit it. I don't brag about my gear, or what I have either.

Your KWA could mean less to anybody here. Majority of the players and members of AP have gear too. Your KWA means nothing to me. If you're serious about thinking your hot shit as a 14 year old with a KWA, And some gear, then you're in the wrong place.

I could care less if you've worked for your money. I sure as hell haven't worked for mine, I'm a spoiled brat for all I care and for everybody to see. I go around spending my mother's money like it's grown like grass. Of course, When I sit down and ponder on my actions, I can begin to regret not earning my own money.

Onto you saying "Join the military", AP has veterans. There are members thinking about joining. The military isn't what you see on Hollywood films or video games. It gets more serious than a simple game of airsoft. Ask anybody who has served in combat, or a tour. There's more to it than being able to hold a weapon that can take a life versus a replica that can leave a simple bruise. There are also various members who suffer from health problems, and affect their ability to join.

In light of this, You sound arrogant. You have a high end rifle and a vest, but with your simple sentence right there you sound like an arrogant little prick. I may not know you, or will ever, but with your words right there I have the impression I won't like you.
