Hey there man, sounds like a great idea and its cool to see some one pumped to make a AS field in the eugene/ springfield area. I was actually just talking to a few friends that are getting into AS with me, about a field around here. I was half thinking of doing it myself, so its nice to know that there is some one in the area that I can work with perhaps to produce a high quality airsoft field that is the envy of 90% of other fields.
I will not promise anything right now but I Would perhaps donate a sizable chunk of money into this, perhaps I could be a partner/co owner? Lets bounce some ideas back and forth.
But onto field setup, fps, full auto. If done in the right way pallets, barrels, and other "scraps" could be used to construct a decent field and at a niiiiice price. Check this vid at the end out to see what I think is a decent indoor setup AND cool gameplay mode idea. Really what it comes down to is planning and effort. You dont want to spend like 5K on new fresh lumber. Get some Ideas on
Like the battle sounds and ambiance.
FPS: really people need to start layering up on cloths or something because 400FPS is supper common now days, ESPECIALLY with higher end AEGs (my ARES H&K 36kv come out of the box at 430...)You have flying projectiles coming at you, they might hurt if they hit. get a cheap tac vest, FULL FACE MASK , wear shorts under your pants and a light sweatshirt or something. Require some type of fully enclosed eye proctecion ie: goggles, full facemask. None of the "gunner glasses" they are all cheap peices of shit that break and get bbs stuck in someones eye. The fully enclosed Eye protection is all I would require if insurance allowed. People need to remember these are NOT nerf guns, or toys . You can put a eye out damnit lol.
Full auto, it IS a tactical decision. If they want to waste that ammo while I wait behind cover thats chill. Sure its made lamer with high cap mags, but are you gonna also not allow AS grenades or blindfire because thats "cheap"? If its a HUGE deal force players that want to play full auto, use low or mid cap mags. If you are trying to simulate a " realistic combat enviroment" you need to enable SOME form of auto fire.
They also have other "zombie" scenarios on their youtube, alot of them are really creative and fun looking!
