Check with the city before you do any of this in reality. Zoning, building requirements, and liability insurance might put a hamper on the plan.

Side note:
I don't know if I would go to an indoor arena with an FPS limit at 375, as the close ranges might cause more bleeding welts than I'd like.
I'm a major chairsofter, sorry about that.

Your insurance company will be the deciding factor in your FPS limit. They often enforce a specific limit for indoors vs outdoor locations. They will also tell you which eye protection to use, and whether it has to be full face protection or not. Most likely they won't allow mesh.

Technically, for indoor arenas even an FPS as low as 300 would be perfect. You can hit people with pinpoint accuracy all day long indoors with a stock Tokyo Marui AEG at 280 fps. And in my opinion that's the best way to go, why add more FPS when you don't even need it? All it does is cause BBs to inflict more damage on impact. It doesn't help your accuracy, and your average engagement distance is going to be 20 feet.

The problem you run into is manufacturers, they upsidedown it all up. They'll make new AEGs shooting at 350 or even 425 fps stock so newbs will buy them. With lower limits you are either forcing people to downgrade springs or they simply cannot use those specific model of AEG. You limit your audience. Because all of these guns shoot so hot, Arenas end up making STUPID rules like "semi auto only" and Safety Kills. Safety kill rules completely ruin CQB, the whole point of CQB is to think and react quickly. I've already conceded to the fact that I'm going to get shot up close when I enter an arena, quite possibly a few times.

Luckily, lots of newer AEGs have quick-swap spring features. But again, ultimately it's up to your insurance. They'll probably allow up to 400 regardless. The only thing you should be concerned about is not being liable when, not if, injuries happen. Because if you aren't covered and you get sued, that's game over for your business.

Semi only kinda sucks since it's an easy way to get a locked gearbox. Although I whole heartily agree that dinguses with a ROF of anything over 12BBPS is bleeding retarded (HAI GUISE MY M14 SHOOTS FASTER THAN AN UZI MICRO CAUSE HASTAGYOLOSWAG)

Hey everyone!! So my job is cutting my hours by half. My manager is trying to find me other work to do. But I figure it is also a great time to work more (and harder) on creating this arena! While im working on the business plan, I did some research on prices and came to these ideas. Obviously the prices will change based on how big of place this business starts in and how much accommodation it can do. So these price ideas are based on a decent size arena with decent accommodations. My question to you all, especially those who are a long way away, do you feel these prices are fair? Obviously I need to be able to make a profit, but I don't want you all to feel like im cheating you somehow. I like to try to be the best customer-friendly place...

Price ideas for Emerald City Airsoft:

Std. Fees:

Arena Fee - $20/3 hrs
$40 all day

Rental Package (Gun, 2000 BB's, Mask) - $30/day

Just gun - $25/day
Just mask - $5/day
BB's - $5/2000, $15/5000

Event Packages:

**NOTE: After events, equipment must be returned but can be re-rented in same day at half price of standard package (with renewal of BB's)**

Semi-Private Event - Base $300, up to 10 players, 3 hours, Public play in arena, private access to party room,
all equipment provided, Extras: $25/additional players, $100/additional hour

Private Event -Base $500, up to 10 players, 3 hours, Private play in arena, private access to party room,
all equipment provided, Extras: $25/additional players, $200/additional hour

Specials:

Military and Law Enforcement - 20% off package deals

Long Haul carpoolers - Any group of 4 or more coming from 2+ hours away with proof, the driver gets 20% off arena and rental fees.

Ideas for later special memberships:

Punch Pass - Buy 4 all day passes, get 1 free $160
Buy 4 3 hr passes, get 1 free $80

VIP Pass - stuff (Shirt, Cup...other ideas?), and 20% off all arena fee's and rental fees.

Other ideas will come as the business grows bigger and better!

If the arena is built with real layout, and done up better than plywood walls, then $20-$40 seems reasonable. Now, $40 all day is great if you're providing some sort of gameplay at times. Some might get bored just getting dumped into even a cool arena with no direction.

That doesn't seem out of line. I'd much rather pay a little more to get more, instead of griping about the price then not having an arena at all.

I like the drivers discount idea.

Well to start it would be plywood. I do have big ideas on layout though. Depending on the space I get, I want to start with maybe an office to storage space theme. So front is an office space layout and a door to a "storage" space so theres a bit of everything. And the storage would have all the barrels and pallets and stuff, to be like the storage for an office, and the front would be filled with rooms, hallways, etc. My end goal after business starts to really roll in is to find a BIG place to be able to build a mini urban area (parking lots, mini marts, streets, houses, cars, etc.) Like I said, the price is based on a decent sized arena and may not even be that much...but we'll see. I think the $20/3 hours is a good price but the all day may go down. Any other ideas?

And I also figured I would have map layout on each end so each team can come up with a tactical plan for certain gametypes. Speaking of gametypes, i have some ideas, and i will post them soon. Im going to start writing them down today and ill post them asap

Also, please make sure the spawn isn't visible from mid map. i'd like to not get spawn camped the whole entire day.

So ive got an idea for gametypes I would want to run in the arena (with the knowledge that its not going to be a HUGE arena to start):

Sweep and Clear: One team clears arena while other team tries to hold the arena. NO respawn allowed.

Team Deathmatch: Kill as many of the other team as possible within time limit. Respawn allowed.

Capture the Flag: Get the other team's flag, or have higher number of flags captured, by the end of time limit. Respawn allowed.

Domination: Raise flags and hold flag. The team with the most flags raised at the end of time limit is the winner. Respawn allowed.

Disarm the Bomb: One team hides the bomb within the arena. The other team has a period of time (determined by amount of players) to find and disarm the bomb before explosion. Once found, a button on the bomb must be held down for 30s-2min to disarm. Respawn allowed. (Ill have to find or contract a device to act as a bomb)

Escort: A team must escort the "president" (aka the referee) safely from base to base without the "president" getting shot. If all of the escort team gets shot, the team loses. If the "president" gets shot, team loses. NO respawn allowed.

Those are the only ones I can come up with for now. Obviously as the arena gets bigger, so will the game types. Does anyone have any other game types they would like to see?

for the president game type! please make it so one team for instants the red team has the president. the president dies and now the blue team has him and so on but its all in the same round so you send both teams back to spawn and alternate the presidents teams
