Eagle Plate Carrier with cummerbund
by Tim "Variable" Jensen

The EPC has been one of the go-to PCs for milsimmers for a few years now. Overall it offers a quality, comfortable, and stylish platform.

For sizing comparison, I own the Small/medium. I am 6' tall, 160#, my pant waist is 32", and my chest is roughly 40". The small/medium leaves my lower belly and upper chest exposed. To give me a litle more breathing room with winter clothes on I had to extend the paracord adjustments in the back to their outter limit.

Over three years of airsofting, I have yet to see any signifcant wear.

With the carrier loaded up, it tends to get uncomfortable in the shoulders after a few hours. Granted I'm an office dweller and don't have my shoulders used to wearing one of these every day. To remedy the situation I bought a set of HSGI shoulder pads that fit to the shoulder straps easily, and make a world of different. The carrier has some thin padding and the replica plates I wear don't get uncomfortable. With real hard plates however, you would be well off to put foam or soft armor in the appropriate slot in the carrier to save your chest.
In play I find that it doesn't get in the way of my movement. I can crawl and move through bushes easy enough as long as I have the pouches arranged correctly.

My rating: 5/5
If you can afford one, they're great!

As you can see, I've re-arranged the carrier quite a few times trying to find the right fit.

Don't the sides sag?

Do the sides hold plates as well? If so, are they attached with MOLLE or inserted?

With replica plates they don't sag, obviously. I don't have a set of real side plates to check with. The sides attach in the front via a bib velcro sandwhich.

You can either insert the plates into the side plate pockets inside the cummerbund, or you can get side plate pouches that attach via MOLLE on the outside of the c-bund.

I never got plate sag with real plates and a fully loaded cummerbund. It was super uncomfortable though...

I've had the same experience, and that was with MSAP pads.

It was uncomfortable on my hips/ sides, not the shoulders. I think it was due to the pressure of the plates being pulled into the side buckles.

I have the problems with the buckles on my MOPC, but I just assumed it was because I'm fat.
