UTG MK96 Shadow Ops Sniper Review W/ pics

Postby Charon » Sat Jun 02, 2007 7:20 pm

This isn't an L96!!! Look at the stock! It is different! This is an Accuracy International AE Rifle! Not an AI L96! Anyway I have used a UTG AE Rifle before and I plan pn getting one. Your crap probably wasn't adjusted. I was able to shoot a torso sized target (one of those thin aluminum tray things) 5 out of 5 times at 100 feet. The hop up was adjusted for .25g BB's and the scope was adjusted. It was a 5th Gen 3-9X50 scope. The range was said to be around 200 feet but I didn't test it that far. Also the gun was stock. I will probably upgrade the gun when I get it. Also when I did it the wind was about 4-6 mph. You might have got a lemon. Too bad your pics were dark but thanks for showing us stuff. The stock wasn't that cheap it was just your normal anti shock ABS plastic. Why is the box blue? That is annoying. Oh yeah with KSC .2g BB's it shoots at 470-480 FPS. The video sounds like a good idea I hope you will show us how to assemble it because I do not want to jack up my gun when I get it because that is $130 out the window. Also I heard the piston and spring guide are made of polycarbonate. Still not metal or fiberglass or anything great. I would have tested it more but my cousin took it and said get your own.

I agree with your review that this gun is not all that good. I found with mine that it's a good gun for a person with a low budget and a backyard. It's got a high FPS but not to accurate with the .20 BBs. My suggestion to all that are looking into buying this gun is to look harder for a UPGRADEABLE gun, because you are going to have to upgrade a lot on this gun to get what your looking for. But then again if your low on cash and just play in your backyard or at the park with some friends, then go ahead and get it.

Please don't ever play with your replicas at a park.

Ever.
Please buy your gear from Rick Fisher; perhaps he can buy a Life.

Mine is wicked accurate with .20g bbs! OMGITRT3hROX!

.20 in a sniper rifle dumping over 450fps. I suppose they're still round. *shrug*
With all the pretty flowers and twigs in your ghillie.. perhaps you should take up gardening?

Don't get me wrong they do have lots of FPS but trust me it's got the worst gearbox... and it's hard to upgrade as well.

i have this gun i think its great

i shot a full gingerale can with it from a atleats 50 feet away and it was in 2 complete halves

its a badass gun from my perspective anyway

i love it but i never use the bipod cuz i never lie down in a game

the only problem is that it sucks to carry (but it comes with a sling) and that its just heavy

im sure theres better guns for a billion dollars but this one works fine

(i suggest .2 bbs)

and also a good semi or auto sidearem for when you have a guy behind you

mabey it didnt work as well cuz you took it apart and put it back together differently

Nitro, that was one of the stupidest things I have heard on these forums.... Atleast today that is.

Airsoft BBs are small, they focus all their kinetic energy into one point creating a small whole. 1 single bb could not tear a whole can in half. If the pressure inside that can was large enough to do it, that is a different story(and highly improbable).

Go away.

No it wasn't. 50 feet is not impressive. I can hit that with my glock.
