Postby Cap n pickles » Mon Apr 05, 2010 10:12 pm

This is a loadout guide for the fellow OPFOR players and US and NATO players.

Observe the following pictures:
Image
1970 - 4 fighters in afghanistan - notice the AK's? yes, get some. Also, lee enfield bolt actions were a popular weapon for sniping in the Afghan russian war, but good luck on getting an airsoft version. : )

SA-7 Missile launcher system.

More bolt action fun.
Image
Muddah stinker get some.
Image
RPG's were very common among Afghan fighter's, Cheap, and easy to use, they are valued weapon in the War then and now.

Weapons Of the Mujahideen force's and cell's.
Rifles, assault.

Most common LMG and MG
RPD

PKM

Bolts
Image
Various Bolt actions including the Mosin nagant, lee Enfield No1 MK3, and No4 rifles.

Some fighters had M16's, although it wasn't to common due to the crappy build of V1 VN M16.

Anti tank Missile system's include
RPG 2/7/16

Stinger missile system

And various grenades.

GP 15, and 25, 30.

Camoflauge:

A lot of U.S. woodland pattern was supplied to the Afghan anti gov force's, But there was a slight mix of Desert tri pattern and chocolate chip. Mostly the top or bottom, rarely both.
Image

Also, OD flight suits and BDU's were a common useage of "camo"

Clothing -
Image
Hats/headwear -
Image
The pakol, very cool and common hat for Afghan wear.
Image
Turban - 15 feet of 100% cotton will work for this, video at the bottom on how to wrap a turban.
Image
SKi mask - Mostly common in Iraq, but can be found on fighters that are from chechyen.

Dress wear -

The "dress" or Perahan Tunban - http://www.afghanistan-culture.com/perahan-tunban.html
Image

A vest, can go on top of the dress.
Image

This is the most common, if you are wearing a camo top, the blouse goes over the dress. *note, when wearing an chest rig(more on that later), the chest rig is placed under the blouse or vest (commonly)

Footwear-

Sandals, early russian combat boots, and american jungle and combat boots are most common.
Also sneaker's are common as well.

Sandals -
Image
And for boots, you have your basic combat boots from VN, and

Load bearing and Chest rigs.

The chicom is very common:
Image
The russian style was aslso common during the afghan russian war, but are hard to find now.
Image

Pistol belts, and H harness set ups were very common too, and the Afghan's loved them.
Image
Image

Other pouches and ways to carry your AK mags or other shit.
Image

I have these, and they are very nice for what they do, i use them on my main rig.
Image

Be creative, drop the molle and OE tech AK chest rigs.
Some of this stuff you can find for a 1$!!! ( i got my Russian single cell mag pouch's for 1$ online).

Packing out for Infidel killing for a few days?

Old era Tent
Image
A sleeping bag
Image
They took anything they had to sleep with, so wool blankets will work too.
Food -
I Think just packing anything is fine, but bread, water, and the like will work.

Keep all of this as ghetto looking as you can. Spoons, forks, etc.

Enjoy, let me know if there is anything i should add, post pictures, tell storys, etc.

Search around here for some AK gear. They have AK chest rigs, and slung AK pouch's http://www.centerfiresystems.com/

Get dress shoes a size too small or two sizes too big. And get them for under $15 new. Lace and tie them when new but not while they are on your feet. Fold the back of the shoe down so your heel is flattening it. Wedge them on your feet, walk miles a day in them for a few weeks, and take them off only when you are praying, washing, and sleeping.

Oh, and socks are only to be worn as mittens!

Get some.

Not to knock wind out of your sails Pickles but mujaheddin didn't get stingers until the '80's.

My bad, some day I'll pay attention to details but then I'd just be giving you a false sense of security.

I did not see that, cheers!
I try not to be too much of an asshole about things like that. It is kinda tucked up at the very bottom of his post, without any real explanation of what it is.

At some point in the not-so-distant future, I intend to get an Afghan Man-dress, so I can defend the Kyber Pass against Multicam wearing pig-dogs-of-the-great-satan-america. A man-dress, a pakol, and a beat up AK . . . . . . oh yes. you apes are goin' down!
