Riot shield, would this thing be respected/validated in game

So I have a buddy of mine that would love to roll with one of these in game, would it be counted with hits not counting when hitting the shield or would the butthurt be too strong with it?

No go. Riot shields don't stop all bullets.

Also, it counts as part of your equipment. If your gear (with exception of your gun) gets hit, you're out.

Riot shields are meant to stop poo that dirty hippies fling, not bullets (or BBs in this case).

All those acrylic tables outside of coffee shops and yuppie restaurants make great riot shields.

A couple of sections of bicycle tube as straps, some nuts and bolts, (don't forget, pointy sides out!) and your ready to repel.

You can also sharpen the edges, so you can go all Captain America on they a$$!

just saying...

I remember a skirmish once where some a$$ clowns brought a homemade riot shield made out of sheet metal. We spent most of the game shooting them continuously with BB's anytime they exposed a patch of skin.

I could only see it being useful for people that are filming.

I say it's cool as long as he only uses a pistol or training knife. If his range is limited to compensate, why not? I think it's funny

here in az we allow the use of riot shields and shooting the shield doesnt count as a hit.
but you are also not allowed to shoot from behind the shield, when shooting you are required to move the shield to the side and shoot. i love it when people use riot shields in games especialy in cqb. ricochets might not count but its hilarious to watch the guy flinch through the lil window as you bounce rounds off the wall behind him into the back of his head.
its even funnier when someone buys/makes a cheap one and you shoot the lil window out and they complain to the staff that you broke there shield and the staff explains that thats what they get for bringing it on the field.

smurff, I think you're talking about ballistic shields if they have a little window. Riot shields are basically clear plastic throughout, they're not made to stop bullets but they can protect you from things thrown by an angry mob. Ballistic shields do stop bullets, and they're a great tool for CQB, but IMO replicas should be designed with real life weight in mind. (15 to 20lbs) I find that most people don't really want to carry them, it's a commitment for sure.

My old team built a shield that we brought to cqc7. It weighed 28.7lbs. If you build one, build it right.

We have used them before but with set rules such as you can't move and shoot. It's fun it adds another dynamic to the game especially in urban ops games. We ran one at the swamp once with shortbus and his son. Fun but wasn't as great as running around with just my rifle.
