Drilling new holes in the stock? Yes. But if you want 16 positions . . . . . theres not really going to be anything for the stock to hold onto . . . . . . so it wouldnt work so well . . . .

Well, I was joking about 16 different positions, but I just drill the holes? Cool, thanks.

Look at the track underneath your M733's stock. You can remove the stock by pulling down on the adjustment lever, and then dragging the stock off (it goes back on just as easily). See the holes there? Measure them, and drill new ones where you want them. In theory, you could have a metric assload of them, so that your stock would be perfectly adjusted for you. In practice . . . . . 6 or so positions is probably the most that any person would really want.

For those of you who have been considering getting a UTG gun, to use as a parts doner, in the event that your primary malfunctions... Dont waste your time/money. I got a bunch of UTG parts in trade, and decided to see how many of them I could really use to rebuild a torn up gun. The count is pretty darn low at this time. I will try to post a more accurate count in the near future.

I'm turning my old DE M4 into a patriot. All I need now is an outer barrel and a way to hold the battery. I'm thinking duct tape.

Lol, about that hop-up spring deal... I almost needed that. What I did, was, the first time I took my CA M15 apart, I upsidedown things up majorly. First, I screwed up the charging handle spring, and then, the hop-up spring fell out, and I was thinking "where in the hell does this little piece of shit go?!?". I noticed that it looked a lot like a pen spring, and after I realized where it was supposed to go, I stuck it in, and lo and behold, I didn't hold it straight, and it got bent. I managed to fix it up to the point that it'll work, but look like shit, and it's now working in my gun, but now I know that if it ever gives out, I'll be able to reapair it cheap.

Got a wonky wobbly CAR Stock?

Postby killbucket » Thu Apr 26, 2007 8:08 pm

I took a strip of .05" thick ABS, 1/4" wide by about 2" long and glued it to the inside top of the stock tube, using pipe cement. Let it dry for about a half hour, then lightly sanded to remove any burrs or glue blobs.
Now, it fits TIGHT and smooth. If it is too tight, you can sand a little more and trial-fit until you get the feel right.
I do this to all my CAR stocks, because they all need it. Even my M733 Marui seemed more refined after I did this to it. No more wobbly cheekweld.

Killbucket, that seems like a good idea! I love my G&P M4 I just got, but was very blown away on how shitty the stock is, its all wobbley and loose.

Speaking of that M733. Barrel wobble. Tighten 3 setscrews, two weeks later, wobble is back (...maybe what you've got isn't ordinary wobble. Consult your doctor...).
Drilled and tapped those little holes for stainless 10-32 setscrews. It's been solid as a rock for six months now (barrel stiffness lasting more than four hours is a serious condition, and...).

the M4 charging charging handle spiring nearly over-stretches every time you disasemble the gun. I used a couple of rubber bands. there is a nice snap when you pull it and let go :D

The forward keeper for those can be lifted out with needlenose pliers. Just grab the plastic loop the spring is hooked to, and pull it towards the front of the gun and up. I botched my first two, before figuring this out.

Any ideas on how to make an outer barrel for an RPK?
I heard brass plumbing pipe but something tells me that it would be a little thin..
Conduit perhaps?

#1 is metal or plastic. Then what diameter do you need or can you work with. Take a pair of calipers to the hardware store.
1" iron pipe would give the best results, but be the hardest to work with. An AK barrel outer is .670" at the thickest, use this as a guide.
