Airsoft Pacific is looking to expand our editorial staff with the addition of product reviewers and staff writers. We receive a great deal of inquiries from manufacturers and distributors who want us to test their prototypes, review finished products and post news about new gear in the making. We don't always have the time to chase down those inquiries and turn them into good articles.
We're looking for a couple folks who can help us out in exchange for a few great perks. You do not need to know HTML. However, you do need to understand how to write quality reviews.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have good written communication skills
- Must provide examples of your writing skill
- Must have an in-depth understanding of Airsoft replicas both inside and out, you cannot be afraid to dig into a gearbox
- Active involvement in this community so you can test AEGs both in the shop and in the field
- Ability to work under deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner. If you say you're going to get something done, you get it done.
- Nice to have: Decent camera for review photos
- You live in Oregon or the confines of this community in the Pac NW.
COMPENSATION
- FREE GEAR. You review it, you keep it. Sometimes we are only allowed to keep items for evaluation for a short period of time, but in that case you get to be the one to hang on to it until it goes back.
- Become part of the AP staff as a moderator and have input on the content that goes into the site.
- CREDIT. Everyone who posts reviews is given credit for their work. Plus, after it's published on AP you can submit it to any other sites you want.
- Get published in magazines for write-ups and articles about Pacific NW events
- We also plan to work with event coordinators to have AAR style articles written and get you free admission to games for the write-up
HOW TO APPLY
Send me an email with links or attachments to your examples, your resume (not required if you have tons of amazing writing examples), and explain why you would make a kick-ass AP staff writer.
