Nocte- It was stated earlier that the reason the winners were chosen is because some of the judges immediately knew who the characters were and were familiar with the source. I do appreciate your vote based on craftmanship though.
I plan on doing costumes that involve airsoft guns, so I don't know why I'd not use those and make a costume JUST for the contest. I don't look down on everyone else, I just am not made of infinite amounts of money and time. Most other cosplayers do not make costumes for the sake of entering contests, but they will enter preexisting costumes into contests. It's not about winning prizes, it's about make a costume for a series you enjoy.

Very true and also true about this contest. You came in sixth and that aint bad. I think anything further is just degrading to the winners of this contest. I know I am one of them but I am not speaking for just myself here. Hoff and Lake Effect Kid had my favorite costumes and they are very deserving. As I should have said before Congratulations To Hoff and Lake Effect Kid.... and that's all I have to say about that.

I believe the fine lady is spoken for.
And that's a really terrible way to try to pick up chicks.

This is getting silly.

Ok this thread is good and done.

Harry - apology posts are worth a dime a dozen. Respect is a hard thing to earn here, and disrespect is even harder to get rid of. Sorry.

To everybody else - looking forward to an all new batch of costumes in 2010, can't wait! This year's costumes were amazing, lots of quality stuff. It was FUN, and that was the goal.
