I have found that even just being in heavy rain all day will cause my waterproof boots to get soggy inside, but then again I don't have any moisture resistant pants.

Having worked all last winter outside in the rain, I found the best option is to wear shorts and no socks with my Sambas.

Huh... I wear them with jeans all day long with no issues... Admittedly I wear my water resistant EMT pants more often, but still, with jeans it's been a non issue.
