Classic Army M15A4 Rifle Review

Postby Matt » Tue Mar 14, 2006 10:19 pm

Since I've had my Classic Army M15A4 Rifle for quite some time now, I've decided to go ahead and get off my butt and post a review. Having owned an upgraded CA AEG for more than 2 years, Cobol also threw in his 2 cents on the review.

Well written and exactly what I was guessing when it comes to the durability and quality of Classic Army replicas. I am happy to know that I am making a wise decision to purchase a CA M15A4 SPC as my first replica, reviews like this and the advice of the experienced players in this community give me a strong sense of security and to know that I'm buying something worth the investment.

I look forward to seeing more reviews of other CA replicas as they are fielded, especially the M24 and M249 models.

Myself and another one of my good friends both purchased CA M15a4 carbines and we did a ton of research before we decided that this replica would best serve our needs. Its great to see a review up from someone that has had a few years experience with an AEG that I have.
I was just asking in the AEG forums about what would be some good upgrades for my M15, and this article has been a huge help to me.

thanks again :D

I totally agree with the review. I have the CA M15A4 RIS and i love it. i have done many upgrades to it already and I am adding more soon. I like the weight of the RIS model. The PEQ battery is odd but i like the fact i can change batteries VERY FAST! This gun Feels very solid.

Um? I don't know. I guess that would depend on how well they took care of them. How long did they have them? Were they upgraded? Who upgraded them? What version is it?

There's a million factors that can break any AEG, be it Toyko Marui, Classic Army, ICS but the most common is the id10t error.

well the guns where stock. Im not sure how well they took care of them but i know they were the m15a4, the version that you have. Do you remember when wgc went on sale with thier ca's? That was when they were perchased so... Fullofle's has a trigger and piston problem so that could be a cause os shitty bbs.

EDIT: so, its gotten to the point where I think I seriously need to consider my continued use of an ICS MP5. I was thinking an AR would be the best idea, and this review helped to along that road. perhaps a CA M15A4 RIS is gonna be my next gun. My question is, I know it states that I need to make sure the parts are not Marui-specific. so, what about ICS magazines specifically? I'm going back to being a highcap whore, and a handful of ICS 400s sounds like a good idea.

I'll go ahead and add my two cents to the discussion...
I have owned a Classic Army M15A4 (carbine) for two years now and it has served me well. It was my first AEG- I purchased it slightly used from a third party in Florida. The only issues I have had with it are related to BB feeding (probably mostly because of the mags) and a broken sector gear (fixed by Seagreen). The hopup is not as sensitive as it could be, however it is as effective it needs to be when maxed out. I have dropped, banged, and mishandled the thing countless times, and the only visible damage has been a dinged rear site. The fuse was removed when I purchased it, and I have run both 8.4 and 9.6 volt battery packs in the replica without any problems. The slip ring is somewhat loose, but this is easily fixed with some electrical tape. Overall, I am very pleased with this AEG and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a durable, versatile replica. It is a great value if you do not plan extensive upgrades.

It shoots at about 330 fps out of the box.

Never been a fan of fancy optics, iron sights work fine for me.

I'd just like to point out that my friend's stock M15A4 rifle chronoed right around 400 fps with a three shot average. The chrono was accurate to my knowledge, we chronoed about 6 other guns who's numbers seemed right.
