Spokane Devil Dogs field location explained
Our field is 350 acres just south of Kettle Falls, Wa. on the Columbia River.
The east side of the state past the Cascades is arid right? Not so much. There is such a thing called the “inland temperate rain forest” in eastern Washington, northern Idaho and western Montana that supports large stands of old growth forest. It also supports some of the last remaining Caribou and Grizzly in the lower 48!
While not as wet as the west side of the Cascades nor the Olympics it’s wet enough to support the same tree species such as western red cedar, hemlock, grand fir, Douglas fir, birch, etc. And the forest is very dense.
