Oh my God... that's a damn fine price for all of it, too. I mean, if you were a bargain hunter and weren't my size you could get it cheaper but DAMN. For uniform, hat, and boots... not bad at all.

That is Rothco reproduction stuff.

It's not bad, especially for the price.

Rothco stuff is alright and cheap but it's not the best. You can get originals for the same or close price (maybe less) if you shop around a bit.

But the originals are all now well faded. I think that to do an impression, you'd want to dress like the period, which is a new uniform made by the lowest bidder, not like a vietnam era soldier with mothballs and dust from being kept in a time capsule.

At least that's my impression of it. I have a set of these Rothco's and they're not too special. Really light, as well. I figured the Vietnam era uniforms would be darker.

In the Jungle your uniform and gear don't stay nice and new for long , couple of days out there and it's a mess.

All my gear and uniforms are real Vietnam Era issue and they are easy and cheap to find.

I'm with congofal on this I use all original stuff. Anyone who had been "in country" for long would have uniforms that looked beat up so it actually adds to the impression a lot of the time . However, if one is looking to do a "just in from the world" look you're probably right CAG in that one may want to go repro to look as "fresh" as possible (although even then I would would recommend mooremilitaria.com .) However, one can find originals in NOS that look pretty new. So, in many ways it can be up to the buyer depending on what they are going for. just my $.02

If you know where to look for stuff and you know the differences between the uniforms and gear you can find it all really easy and real cheap , it just takes time and patience.
