Rit Dyeing Swedish Wool

Postby Junto » Sun Jun 20, 2010 5:14 pm

I've got a 1942 Swedish Wool uniform in dark gray. I'd prefer to turn it feldgrau and I remember hearing that it could be done with Rit Dye. I've got a bottle of dark green Rit Dye, but I'm not sure if there's any sort of special concentration or extra instructions for getting the proper green-gray. Any tips would be welcome. A complete walkthrough would be excellent.

You want to cold dye it. The procedure I used was:

Get a bucket or something that will hold the tunic
Pour 2 bottles of Rit dark green into cold water
Add the tunic
Let sit for 24 hours stirring and moving around at least 3 or 4 times

Done.
