over the weekend I was curious and took apart my $20 shell fed shotgun apart. After having to cut the glued on orange tip and the mag tube cap, then spending a day and a half looking for springs that flew out, and trying to find where all the parts went, I can say they can take a new spring and piston, but its not really worth it. I shot mine across the street and then used my rangefinder and it was shooting easily 80 yards, so they are what they are, best left alone, then replaced with new

Hype, it is.
It really depends on whether it's gas or spring, and which one. A while back, some company used to make TBBs and springs for tri shot TMs.
