DE M56 disassembly question

Postby Shadowsta13 » Sat Jun 04, 2011 9:13 pm

Recently due to stupidity during a game someone push a piece of loose cover and it landed on the gun while someone was holding it. The problem is that the outer barrel has been pulled out of the reciever by about 8mm making it point at an angle. Escientially putting the gun out of comission. I have been able to remove the the stock and pistolgrip but I can't figure out how to continue.

It's a plastic gearbox LPEG... Just get a JG as it's probably not fixable.

its a pump shotgun, not an LPEG.

they are fixable, but its a hell of a lot easier to just buy a new one. if any parts are broken, you wont be able to find replacements anyways.

Unscrew the rails (I think they have them) and unscrew the metric crap-ton of screws all over the body. CAREFULLY split the body, and open the sucker up. It's all there, pretty simple springer stuff. OR, you could just push the barrel back in. IIRC (been a while since I opened up a springer, cut my eyeball last time) the hop up chamber would still be hanging onto the bucking and you could just stuff it back in there.

TL;DR: Buy a new one.

I would buy another one and keep the parts though it is not mine. That's why I wanted to be very cautious while opening this thing up. Thanks for the advice Switchback. I was confused because the screws are under pieces of the body and I didn't want to have to tell my friend that "your guns fixed but now it looks like someone took a hammer to it".

Really? I have an LPEG M4 made by DE that says "M56" on the receiver... Weird.

So...It works now?

Other than a few dents it works completely fine. Though I did find a thread with a disassembly( I didn't think to check the TM M3 that it was cloned off of)
