M203 Projectiles

Postby Switchback » Sat Jun 11, 2011 1:30 pm

So I have this CA203 (Classic Army M203, Long, Rail Mounted), and I really like it. However, I don't want be pouring bb's out of it; if I wanted that, I would've purchased/traded for a tri-shot (again).

I'm looking for good sized projectiles that can be fired out of an M203 and go a decent distance. I completely understand that I may or may not be able to use them at games, just post up what you stuff down the barrel of your M203 for your own amusement.

the nerf mini howlers are pretty much the endgame for 40mm tubes in airsoft. you have to have a good shell and a long barrel (not the shorter SOPMOD launcher) to launch them a respectable distance though.

you can find them at places like freddies or target for a couple bucks usually.

exactly, you can cut the extra distance from the beginning of the tail fins to the beginning of the body to make them fit better too. Very easy mod that just requires cutting a bit of foam and a plastic support rod.

Or you can get these from Mil Sim Labs http://www.milsimlabs.com/foam%20ordance%2040mm.html but they are not accepting orders till mid june due to a large order for another customer base. Something to think about.

I'd note with the pocket nerfs in short barrels, a good trick is to load backwards, as the weight of the projectile swings it around in flight and the extra compression gives you better range. Most people cut the fins, but I'm not entirely sure if it's essential to use it this way.
