Shotgun

Postby Bircher » Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:27 pm

I'm looking for a springer shotgun to use incase my AEG were to die at an event, I used to have a UTG M3L a long time ago. I've been looking into this shotgun...

Does anyone have experience with this shotgun?

I've borrowed one at a game after my main went down. It was surprisingly entertaining. You might want to consider just saving up for a GBB pistol or a cheaper AEG.

Spend the extra $20 and get a tri-shot.
Really.

But this one isn't bad if you want a pump rifle.

I had one a little while back. It was a decent gun for the money but like what Switchback meant, its not really a shotgun if it only fires one shot. tri shots are worth the extra $. more fun too

I had a Tri-Shot at one point and it was just bad... You really can't hold your own against an AEG unless you've got good bushcraft and assault methods.

Save up your money and get a used AEG, it will be worth your while.

Try running really fast and throwing things. That's what I do when I run with my shotgun.

EDIT: It helps if the things you throw are grenades.

There's no airsoft shotguns that fit your specs perfectly but the one of the closest would be software licensed M500 Mossberg (half metal half plastic construction, 8mm Tri-shot or even better 6mm 5 shot, Gas not spring) ...I found this gun to be really great...

I <3 my SPAS 12. I need to make a scabbard for it but it makes a decent tertiary weapon.

Any tri-shot shotgun is worth your while, and are tremendously satisfying to use if you are crafty enough.

As great as the SPAS-12 is, nobody but Marui makes it, so have fun getting it for a price that's actually worth it (one of the few Maruis that's not worth paying full price for, and this is from a guy who has bought quite a few plastic guns). The UTG/ACM/Whatever brand trishots are really the best shotguns to get. They don't look great, but they're available at a price that's just about right and they're fantastic backup guns. I have my ALICE shotgun pouch filled with shells and my trishot at every game I go to. The ACM gas shotguns are good, but you need to replace the cocking arms because they're pretty much guaranteed to break within a few games. They do have the most badass cocking sound in airsoft short of the Tanaka 1897, but that's not skirmishable and nobody outside of Japan owns one.

Also, I am drunk.

Full metal and springer don't exist in the same sentance, you can't get. Either you get a full metal gas shotgun, or you get a full plastic springer shotgun. And no upgrade bodies are available for springer shotguns.
