Where the heck is Aridfleck...?

Discussion of load-bearing equipment, tactical gear, holsters, BDUs, and other gear related to Airsoft.

Where the heck is Aridfleck...?

Postby Sahronax » Sat Jan 08, 2011 12:44 am

So in my search for a certain kind of camouflage for sale (see this thread) I ran across a previously unbeknownst to me uniform called "Aridfleck" or "Arid flecktarn":

http://www.asmc.de/en/New-Items/Field-s ... eck-p.html

Apparently this is made by a German company but has an ACU cut; basically it appears to be Multicam colors in a Flecktarn pattern. It looks like it could prove quite effective in the terrain my team plays in so I was doing some shopping around, but I haven't had much luck. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other names that this pattern goes by that I could search for, and/or of any other sites that sell it (preferably for less than the $120 USD found on all these British and German sites...). Any and all help will (probably) be appreciated.

That pattern is in use by German troops over in Astan and such. If you browse the picture threads here, you'll see some guys using it.

Just because another company makes it in ACU cut, doesn't mean its not in use ;) Mr. Chinaman makes all sorts of cammies in ACU cut because thats the new thing (over BDU cut).

As for where to buy it, I've heard great things about http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/issuetrousers.php
They usually have better shipping rates.

I went through that site and didn't find it...
Also, I realised that how I worded that about the ACU style made it technically false, so I went back and edited it; thanks.

Am I the only one that sees this and thinks resembles a rock bass? Don't get me wrong this is really nice. Just chuckled a little at it. It would be great if you have rock formations or water and short shrubs like a creek or old river bed.

There appears to be a misunderstanding here; this is not the German desert camouflage, it is a completely different color scheme. Tropentarn has tans and brown and green, this 'Aridfleck' is actually a five-color pattern in what appears to be colors very similar to those in Multicam. I found plenty of Tropentarn and standard woodland Flecktarn, but this stuff I cannot find.

Okay, so you are not looking for wustentarn pattern.

That is correct. Wustentarn, Tropentarn, desert Flecktarn, Steppentarn; all are the same thing, but not what I am looking for.

It is, but saying that is like saying it is similar to Flecktarn, Steppentarn, and Russian Flectar- that is, it is the exact same pattern, but with largely different colors.

I can't see the image here, but Congofal is probably correct. The PLA (Chinese) have a Nepal-themed high desert flecktarn pattern.

Googling "aridfleck" got me this pretty quickly:

Definitely not the same thing; although I suppose I could have posted pictures here in the first place, apologies for that...
