New Rifles from G&G

Postby Matt » Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:01 pm

Samuel Sze from G&G was kind enough to show off prototypes of two new G&G rifles at the Oregon Airsoft Arena customer appreciation event today. I decided to take a couple of quick videos, we got to take a look at and handle the new G&G Combat Machines Sportsline GBB rifle and the G&G Combat Machines CM16-R8L.

G&G Combat Machines Sportsline GBB - This one is pretty cool, an AEG price for high quality GBB. It's hard to make that jump to gas due to the cost of mags, but when the gun is under $200 one might reconsider.

On the GBBR, I hope that they fix the movement in the charging handle for the production run. It has what looks to be about 1/4 inch of play during operation.

I did not notice that when I was firing it today.

Also, I confirmed the gas system is pretty much proprietary to AR-15 models it seems as of now, so you can't be coolkid and drop the system into a D-boys SCAR-L or anything using a V2 gearbox, even though it's modeled after the V2 gearbox. Although, it's unconfirmed, and it probably would take a little modification here and there.

As for how it preforms in cold weather, we never seemed to be able to copy ASGI's ice water test today that they had done with the LM4. But, the magazine's temperature apparently didn't change that much when Sam was telling me about the magazine and system when they ran a test on if it would drop. Apparently, IIRC, it dropped about half a degree or so.

The magazine gets about 60 shots to the fill, if anyone was wondering as of now.

I did hear that after 120 or so shots it gets COLD. He had it running and 2 fills back to back made the mag really cold to the touch. Not sure if that will affect anything but...

I think it was probably so hot outside (the high was 102) that they couldn't have done the ice cup test because the ice would've melted and the water would've warmed up. Unless they did it inside...

I myself did not get to shoot it ( :( ) but the blowback sounded really nice.

EDIT: Did Sam say that the mag holds 80 rounds but the it only holds 60 rounds worth of gas? Or did I hear that wrong...

No, the magazine can hold 30 rounds, but can hold a gas charge of 60 rounds.

Any word on the Barrel Assembly? Specificly, AEG inner-barrel compatibility? Cause... that would be glorious as far as I'm concerned. Combat Machine quality, GBB powered, AEG parts compatability... WTS WE M4 w/ 4Mags! =p

I'm already seeing visions of a No-front-site, VTac railed, CTR stock'd DMResque Bang Bang machine. Yes. Do want.

Oh ok good. That would be very strange.

I definitely like the sound of this gun perhaps being AEG parts compatible. That would be just awesome.

ASGI has them on pre-order at the moment, the OAA has them in, as well as Evike. (but if you're smart you won't order from Evike) AMS might have them in. Haven't checked.
