Postby Teleavenger » Sat Dec 19, 2009 1:30 pm

hey,

i needed to get a mag for my ak, but i dont have enough time to order another mag, or the money.
i do have plenty of m4 mags, so i as wondering if there were any ways i could get my m4 mags to fit in my ak-47.

not without a ton of modification. the feed ports on the mag don't line up, and it certainly wont lock into the magazine well.

That's called an FNC. So you have two choices: Buy AK mags, or do a seriously expensive conversion that probably would end up not working.

just buy ak mags.

the FNC and AK47 are pretty different too. the only real main design that is shared is the use of a similar gas piston system, which is pretty common on modern automatic rifles. it shares more commonalities with the FAL than anything else.

FNC is in 5.56x45mm brandon. the FAL is the one that's in 7.62x51mm. and the caliber doesn't matter so much, its the functional system of the weapon that hes talking about.

we're getting off topic though.

The make mag adapters that let M4 mags fit in an AK, but they are very expensive and definitely not worth it.

the FAL was originally designed for the .280 British, but NATO came about and all they did was drill a bigger hole in it for the 7.62x51, that's why it only shoots semi, full auto would beat it to pieces because it was designed around a littler cartridge and those lazy Belgians didn't beef up the internals. That, and its super light and 3 rounds of in full auto and it turns into an AA gun.

*the more you know*

(this is about the original version, not the newer ones with a heavy barrel to be used as a squad gun or those fitted with a different receiver and muzzle brake)

Yeah, one is available, but you'll have to order it, and it costs over a hundred dollars. I wonder which you should do, AK magazines that you can get at your local store, or wait two weeks for a hundred dollar adapter so people can ask why you are putting AR mags into an AK.

yes i know that beran, but paintball tends to mix 30 guns into one. if he wants to put his m4 mags into his ak.. well, its about as stupid as the picture... spend the money that could be used to make or buy an adaptor, and get some ak mags for 65$
