I became aware of the ZIP TIE issue after I arrived Sunday AM. My mistake, and I take full responsibility. I ASS-U-ME-d my chrono guys had zips. They did not, and we went without.

But wouldnt it be great if we had honest folks that chronoed all thier in game weapons, and followed the rules, so we wouldnt have to be concerned about this issue?

Just dont play with a hot weapon.

Hand held portable chrono ftw...

This will not happen again, I can assure you.

There were efforts made Saturday night to gather zip ties for the chrono. Chris (APST) and I worked on it personally. We were able to produce one lone yellow zip tie. As far as I konw, a run was made to town to get a pack from a gas station. That was the last I was involved with the chronographing. I chronoed Sunday, along with KK and I saw a good many of the regulars doing the same.

While it was dissapointing to see that no one did resolve the issue, we certainly did take the necessary means to address and rectify the situation.

As a player-admin on the field, I called only a few blue out for not feeling their hits, and quite a few reds. Kids: If you're in a bunker with me, and we're taking fire, I hear "THWaCK" and you say "OUCH!"...call your F'ing hits please.

I saw some great shooting on both sides. The competition is always fierce when you're up against APST and NWO. You know there's going to be some testosterone, and some blood. I always look forward to the challenge of hunting and being hunted by professionals. It's why I play the game.

Again, while admining, I saw some of the cleanest and best goddamn airsofting you would ever want to see from the NWO guys. They have a situational awareness that is gained SOLELY from real assholes lobbing real ordinance at you. If you ever wonder why you can't hit them when you're shooting at them, stand behind them for 10 minutes sometime while under fire. You'll learn volumes.

APST, I went Bill-hunting for a long while and again, came up empty. Someday, I'm gonna bag me an APST wookie....someday. While I was playing in the village, Josh made a shot on me that I shit you not was 250 feet easy. I would say 300. Center mass. This is 2 of the greatest airsoft shots I have ever seen come from the same person. Always a pleasure.

I've never seen green gas/propane push a bb over 350 FPS. Never.

I ask everyone with a sidearm if they're shooting CO2 or red gas (those can get cranked up quite high). If they're not, there's no point in wasting time with the finicky chronograph (most people had to shoot around 5 times to get it to register a reading).

You might wanna check the Mk23 replica at Evike Nocte - it claims to push a bb possibly up to 400 fps.
Dislex got one, and now that this came up, I am interested in seeing what it does.
Maybe I can see if he can chrono it here and see what it turns up

even though a pistol should be chronoed, in 55 degree weather it wil be pretty hard to shoot any gas system over 350fps... If it was 80 or 90 degrees, totally different issue. or unless HPA or some high tech gadgetry..

However I think all platforms need to be chrono'd

the pistols that need to be worried about are CO2, NBB and red gas. its possible to get a normal blowback up there in fps though. people just usually don't do it because its a backup weapon for close range.

Knuckles,

I was just in the wrong place for you to kill me....I got whacked 6 times on Saturday..that is like an all time high. LOL.

It was fun. It was in general safe...not like knitting safe, but definitely overall safe. Small incidents are ALWAYS going to happen at any live event where....make no mistake...we are shooting BULLETS at each other.

-Eyeprotection....that is easily managed. We can do it at the chrono. It works well at the CQC events. That is how we know what people are wearing into the building. We want you in full battle rattle to determine if you are a danger to yourself or those around you.

-Natures little creatures: Can't live with them, can't live without them. Act's of God can't be lumped into the whole "how do we prevent it"...what I will do is make sure I have some benedryl in my pack from here on out.

-On the field injuries: Cuts, twists, sprains, breaks....we all know what is out there waiting for us. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. We on the whole have WAY fewer injuries than what I remember while paintballing in the early 90's. So....really, our playerbase must be more sure footed.

Indoors you can control the footing and lighting, outdoors though...it is always the same....terrible. That is why no one complains when they roll their ankle or do something really special like fall through a snag about 5 ft and thrash your back (me)...because we did it to ourselves.

We don't head out to the game with kid gloves on. We expect a little hurt. We expect a little pain. It comes with the territory. We are playing a contact sport....just at range. We DO though expect the rules to be followed by everyone. Which is why we have event administration. Safe as can be reasonably expected under the event conditions...rules, regs, and honor.

Pretty simple really.

Yeah and if I can see you visably flinch from my first burst, don't wait until I hit you with not one but two more before you call yourself out. That forth round was getting frustrating. But all in all one of the better times I've had airsofting.

Great game guys. had a blast. First game was a slow going for us trying to keep that logging road. Second game was awesome, wulf, way to go we killed so many in that bunker and the red who had to be called out by an admin three times should count for at least 6 kills for as many times as we nailed him. Third game mithril showed up late to, lunch and reload were higher priorities. (such a good samich). Last game, my crazy commander made a promise we would take starlog, so we did. Ha. Epic battle ensued. Morgan, great shooting to take the day for blue, and mad props to your riflemen for the support at starlog, wouldnt have made it without you guys.
