DBoys AK74u or Dream M4

Postby Blais21 » Thu Feb 11, 2010 7:36 pm

Ok I've been looking around for my next buy and up until a couple days ago I was going to the DBoys AK from airsoftgi for $165. Well I just found out that Variable was selling his KWA M4 with full magpul accessories, an acog, some internal work, and a dees barrel, for $375. I have always loved his m4 but I also love the price and v.3 gearbox of the AK.
If anybody has any opinions or pros and cons of both I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I have done some reviews on d-boys stuff, they are not bad, definitely worth $165, but then you are going to easily put another $150 into it over the next few months to get it up to par for good range and accuracy, and then any external mods, optics etc.

I am usually weary of used guns, but Variables is a new enough model, and he is a pretty OK guy (cough cough )

So, you can either spend the time and money making your own tricked out gun, or get one that is already tricked out. KWA is a better foundation than Dboys though, no doubt.

D-Boys is not that bad But the M4 Variable selling is a really nice set up and the money you would put into any M4 to get that kind of set up would cost you way more. I would go for Variables M4.

Comes down to this, which would you rather have, an AR or an AK?

I love my Dboys AKs though, the gear box is very strong, no bending, no flex, and its TM cloned right. Ive never had trouble putting in upgrades, and the stock parts are nice aswell.

Tims M4, it looks nice, and im sure it performs great, his M4 made me want to get one just cause it was really nice.

Jizzed in my pants.

So it comes down to whether you want an AK or M4. But i suggest against the AK 74u Cyma version, unless you have money to replace the GB.

Because you are: NATZEES

AR or AK? I pick AR any day. for me, airsoft is all about what I would use in real life were I an elite SF member or WTFever. Tim knows his shit, and if you want an AR and like Magpul parts (who doesn't  ), look no further!

Buy both Dboys AK74 & a SPR, will cost you less than $400.
Then add on Magpul parts later.
I am not saying KWA is no good, but $375 is a bit steep.
