Army L85+ gemtech holo suppressor

Postby Nomad » Tue Mar 09, 2010 9:53 pm

Im not to sure if this is in the right section but i have quick question. I have an army l85 im looking to add a suppressor to. My flash hider isn't removable however so i was curious if this would work. Im about 98% sure that it would work but im looking for more opinions.

this is a link to the suppressor:

I know of a guy who has successfully removed the suppressor from his Army L85. Eudorus, post here!

Don't try to force it. Use a heat gun on it, then twist. It's probably superglued on.

I know my Army L85's flashhider was simply screwed on, but clearly something is different here. Heat gun is the best bet.

The description says that it comes with an 'adapter'. Chance are, the adapter is a 14mm CCW birdcage with one or more notches for the can to mount to.

ou are running across two potential tolerance slip issues.

The L85a2 uses a NATO standard flash hider. The standard was developed and implemented to allow rifle-launched grenades. Gemtech says that their HALOs will fit over a 5.56mm NATO-style flash hider without issue.

If your AEG is perfectly in spec, the flash hider will be the right dimensions externally. If the Madbull Gemtech HALO is in spec, the internal dimensions will be correct to mount over your flash hider. Assuming everything is right, it should work without having to use the included flash hider. If it in't, you will probably need to hit your existing flash hider with a heat gun and torque the b**** off, and then mount the adapter.

Good luck!

I have a Madbull Gemtech Halo.

Want to meet up and see if it fits?

I have pu tit on WE tech, Systema PTW and TM m-16 flashhiders as well as a Real Vortex Flashhider, It was kinda fun with it on my Real rifle and shooting a .22 conversion kit, made me feel all C.A.G.
