Problems with G&P?

Discuss battery powered AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns) in this forum.

anyone have a picture of the "new" gearbox to demonstrate that it's too wide? I just want to see it. For them to make a body based around a gearbox is one thing, but for them to increase the gearbox size in some way and continue using the same body sure sounds like a mistake to me.

I don't mind the dust cover cannot be close on a G&P, its more easy to have access to the hop up dial.
It is a toy rifle anyway, G&P serves quite well on that purpose.
I only have heard & exp the JG/E1 gearbox is too wide for the Hurricane MBK, which makes the bolt cover cannot fit in.

Wow. Leave this thread alone for weekend and see what happens? :)

Anyway, this gun is going to be used primarily for CQB, and therefore will be downgraded to 300 fps to meet the field reqs here. Do most of these internal parts failures occur when the guns are upgraded? If so, should I even go to the trouble of replacing stuff like gears upon purchase of the gun? Most of the time, less fps = less strain on parts = less internal breakage. Also, if I do end up replacing parts, what gearsets might work better in a gearbox like this, especially with the high ROF?

And as far as the dust cover goes, some people care; I don't. I don't think the fact that a small, almost superflous piece of metal that doesn't close should be that big of a con when making a purchase.

I own G&P AEGs, and have used replacement G&P gears. I have never had any issues with the G&P gearset that is currently in my M4. The set before broke because I was clearing a jam by trying to shoot it out. :D

I wouldn't bother replacing them unless they broke.

My gears broke when I wasn't even shooting for some reason. Separating the GB halves took them off. I never used the gears much in anything shooting over 310 FPS-ish. Had a really weak spring, either a Systema M85 or Systema 1J spring, I can't remember.

If you are lowering the velocity to 300 the stock gearbox should be more than enough to get you through to your next AEG ;) And your right, to most people the dust cover thing isn't really an "issue". I just thought the record should be put strait about G&Ps "design flaw". Should have the "official" answer (for what its worth) in a few days and I'll post it here... ignoring the fact that I have 5 G&P m16 style rifles right here and "I know what the 'flaw' is" Hope you enjoy the Sentry Vibora, I'm jealous
