Tokyo Marui M4

Postby G Runner » Tue Mar 16, 2010 5:24 pm

I have a Tokyo Marui M4 and it does'nt shoot. Every time I pull the trigger it makes a sound like its trying to work but then stops. I first tried this with an 8.4 volt batery and it didnt make a sound so I tried a 9.6 and it started making said sound but where the batarey connects to the gun started getting noticibly hot. I have tried getting the gun to fire with a few different battaries but to no difference. Anybody got an idea what could be wrong

Congratulations, you have a jam. Try clearing the barrel first, then give it a try. If that doesn't work, find a pick that will pull your anti-reverse latch down and send the piston home (inertia sucks sometimes) If you don't feel comfortable with taking your gearbox down if those two things don't work, then take it to someone.

I actually wouldn't recommend either of those steps, but feel free to do them.

Your gearbox is already locked. It may have been caused by a BB jam, but clearing the jam now will do nothing to actually change the condition of the gearbox.

It's possible that your mechbox could just be stuck in the fully-drawn position, or that resetting it will fix the problem. However, if you have a broken part in there, there's also a possibility that resetting the gearbox and just trying to shoot it again may cause other parts to break as well.

I would recommend having an experienced airsmith take a look at it. I can work on AEGs for people, or you can take it to Airsoft Outlet NW if you feel more comfortable with a business handling it. If you would like to begin learning how to work on AEGs yourself, post here and I will describe the possible problems and what you would want to look for to determine which parts may need to be replaced or what the issue might be.
