HELP!!!

Postby shawn423 » Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:19 pm

So i just bought a Classic Army m15a4 carbine (proline) from airsoft outlet NW. I took it home, fully charged the battery (I also bought a smart charger). I fired a few semi-auto shots and out of the blue it just stopped firing. It wont even make a sound. It doesn't look like any fuses are burnt but I'm not very airsoft savvy and i don't have any clue as to what happened. Anyone who can help would be much appreciated.

I recommend you take it back to ASONW and have them take a look at it.

Congratulations on your purchase from AONW. AONW doubles the manufacturer's warranty. Just got home after buying a gun and now it isn't working? Take it back and AONW will happily fix it for you free of charge or replace it for you with no problems.

You said you check the fuse"s" are you imparting that you think there are more than one? Hate to say it, but AEGs only have one fuse so if it is blown your out youself about 25 cents. If the fuse is not it is probably a loose connection.

Definatly sounds electrical (easy fix normally). I'd take it back and they should fix it for you. Funny thing is one of my friends got one of those and the gearbox locked up, now I own one and so far I love it and have had no problems with it. But I would pick up some silicon oil while your taking it back. Swab the barrel with it and your range and accuracy should go up quiet a bit.

Sometimes a broken fuse does not look broken, but is not working.

A check you can do is take both screws out of the bottom of the pistol grip. See if one of the wires underneath the grip plate is off of the motor. If not, carefully replace the motor plate, put the screws back, and take it back to AONW.

did you hear a hissing sound before it stopped or did it just stop abruptly?
hissing=battery/electrical
stopping abruptly=jam or dead battery (maybe more)

Your gun isn't supposed to hiss. Unless you are severely abusing your battery and the cells fail catastrophically there should be no hissing sounds. Electrical shorts don't usually make that much noise...

Stopping abruptly can also be a symptom of a burned fuse or an electrical short. On the contrary if it's jammed it will continue to make sound, they just won't be very pleasant. If your battery is dead or dying it will slow fade out rather then die abruptly.

you said you fired it on semi-auto, My CA m15a4 tactical carbine (same as yours) can only fire on full auto because the gears lock on semi-auto. Not sure why exactly but if you (or a friend thats good with guns) can unlock the gears, try testing on full auto. You might have the same problem that my m4 has.

The only advice that the original poster should listen to is to TAKE IT BACK TO AONW FOR THEM TO DEAL WITH.

Any sort of attempt to fix it will void the warranty. They techs at AONW can fix it quickly and professionally.

Where's the fun in warranty for airsoft guns?
If you choose to follow Adam's idea to remove the motor plate and check the connections, I say take it a small step further and pull the motor out, connect it and check to see if it spins. Then you will know if it truly is an electric issue.

What happens when you flip to full auto? Still nothing?

i'd avoid tinkering with it yourself.
It's a new gun from a reputable shop. If you don't see anything easy & obvious then just go back to AONW and let them hook you up. 8)
