Mag + hop up = problem?

Postby Abe » Sat Mar 13, 2010 9:50 pm

I have put this off for a while as it has really bothered me but,

I have 5 king arms mid caps (which I love) that don't miss feed, but the first 10-30 bbs drop at atleast 2 feet, and the rest are fine. For the past few months I just never really bothered to ask what the problem could be until now (I don't know why).

Also, I don't know if this will help any, but I use them with a KWA and I also have MAG mids which shoot perfectly.

Any input would be aprreciated.

Thanks
Im down, but i'm not out.

"the first 10-30 bbs drop at at least 2 feet"

Not sure what you mean, that they drop out of your barrel just 2 feet out of the muzzle or that they drop 2 feet down range compare to normal down range distance? Will this happen if you only fill the mag 3/4 full? Could be a hop up problem and not a mag problem? Will this happen with hi caps?

I also have KA mids the bbs drop after a couple feet the first 5-15 bbs and/or have feeding issues the first 5-15 bbs. I also have G&G, A&K, AGM, and MAG mids/high caps that work perfectly

I mean like they drop 2 feet from leaving the barrel.

I have tried filling them up half way, still they drop for the first 10-30 then its okay.

I have also filled them all up, shot them until they were okay, then put the mag back in and they are okay.

Here are the two option that I can think of to do. One contact the maker of the mags and see what they say about it. Could be that they had a batch of bad mags that got out. Two, take a bigger hammer to them.

I know I've had problems with my KA, although I can't seem to find them.
What I did is I lubed them up - and put bb's in it overnight to break in the spring. Not sure if this would help for you - I thought I would try.

I just thought that I would post an update for the hell of it.

I have done with whole 9 yards with it (I think thats the saying?)
, with no luck.

I cut ~4 links of the spring off and it seems to have helped a little. You may want to try that
