SOCOM Gear/VFC SOPMOD M4 Questions

Postby Snowman » Sat Jul 03, 2010 1:09 am

I've been looking at the new SOCOM Gear SOPMOD M4, and since there aren't any reviews out for it, how is it, both internally and externally? And how is the mag compatibility? It's made by VFC, I believe, to answer some questions.

Due to the fact it uses fully traded Daniel Defense externals, it should be pretty god damn good eternally. The only thing is that Internals of VFC are a bit shabby.

So I'd need to replace the piston, cylinder head, maybe shim it, and maybe replace the hop-up, as well as change the spring?

On mine the piston and cylinder head are holding up fine, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd get rid of the self shimming gear stuff and shim them yourself depending on the ROF you're running. What's wrong with the spring?

I went to AONW yesterday to check them out, I ended up leaving with a CA LWRC M6A2 instead, Jesse was saying that while the externals were some of the best he's seen, the internals were ok, but for the price range I made the step up to Classic Army.

I'm building a SOPMOD M4, and I'd like to have the best externals I can get. And L4, the FPS is too high for Ops.
