EEcho 1 G36K barrel assembly

Postby Nark » Fri Jul 02, 2010 9:21 am

Hey guys I got an Echo 1 G36K in a trade. Unfortunately the gas chamber on my G36C broke a couple days later while I was taking it apart. Has anyone taken apart the Echo 1 K version? I was wondering if you knew if the barrel extension is able to come off (i.e. hold it in boiling water until the glue softens enough to unscrew it) or something like that.

Yes, it will come off with some effort (I used the boiling water method).

But be careful- because the metal in the gas assembly in the JG/E1 g36s is potmetal- and will rather easily twist/deform/break... :?

I soaked mine in hot tap water for about 10 minutes and then took a pair of vice grips to it and slowly turned it.

Necropost...

If your flash hider is glued on, then don't plan on using it again after you get it off. I had to completely crack a plastic one off so that the gas tube would stay in tact.

Just a quick question if my inner barrel ends significantly before the outer barrel does, i have a G36C inner barrel inside a G36K outer barrel, will it throw off my accuracy tremendously?

Try it, the only way it really will is if the outer barrel gets hit by the BB coming out.
