Thinking about picking this one up and adding on to it. For $210 shooting 400 consistently and railed what do you guys think?

Well here is a review:

I have no direct experience with the rifle, but most echo 1 stuff is good, and if it malfunctions you can send it back within the warranty period.

I looked over the review, and I'm not an expert, but it looks and sounds pretty solid. I'd say go for it! :D

Don't. You can get the ACM one with better trademarks for less money, and it's the exact same gun.

Is it a VFC copy?

Well I don't think VFC makes one in that length to copy but some of it might be copied from VFC.

STOP! Some Echo 1 ER16 are born malnourished.
Read this first - taken from Echo 1 Forums

Defective rear sight - even if you adjust it from left or right it still doesn't align with the front sight:

Crooked rail (focus your attention on the distance of the barrel to the rail):

I happen to own this gun and I love it and I hate it at the same time.

Why love it:
Complete accessories - playable out of the box; you got rail guards, battery and charger (still recommend upgrading to a smart charger and battery); flip up iron sights; rail system; metal adjustable hop up; retractable crane stock (fits nunchuck style batteries); FPS is good (350 + with .20g bb)! It can fit almost any after market magazines (if you get wobble you can add electric tape inside the magwell like what I did).

Why hate it:
The firing selector breaks easily from moving to semi to full-auto - it has the tendency to fire on its own on full-auto and I have to turn it to safe before it stops (happens intermittently). No smooth flow of motion when moving the selector switch from safe all the way to auto. Some production run may have a defective rail system and rear iron sights.

Warning: When you remove the bright orange tip be sure to use a vice grip to hold the barrel and remove the screw on the orange tip with a very small Allen wrench. Flash hider, tracer or silencer size 14mm counter clockwise

This gun is field ready but not CQB friendly due to high FPS rate.
I'm just unlucky to get a malnourished ER16. IF the rails, rear sight, and firing selector on my my ER16 are in perfect condition I would recommend this gun to any starter airsoft player. It is a great starter gun (playable out of the box). If you're good at fixing an AEG you won't have problems with the firing selector switch. In my case I didn't bother fixing the problem because the firing selector issue on mine happens intermittently. Go for it if you really want it but I suggest looking at other guns.
