Switching Lower Receievers

Postby malik » Tue Sep 28, 2010 7:33 pm

So, I have a G&G GR16 Full metal blah blah... Anyway, I would really like to get COLT or Marine trades. If I buy a G&P kit, will I be endanger of screwing anything up internally? Also, could I get away with just a lower and keep my G&G upper? Or would it be easier to get both?
We want 'em to know if they're gonna leave a bomb on the side of the road, first, we're just gonna blow up their little f**kin road.

It's very easy to switch receivers. All you have to do is push out some pins, slide the upper receiver off, and then push out some more pins/unscrew some things (depending on how the G&G guns take down) and then remove the gearbox. Well, actually you have to remove the motor and buffer tube as well, but those are very easy to do. Look up a guide on how to disassemble an M4, and it should be easy enough.

For the upper receiver, you'll have to unscrew the delta ring assembly (otherwise you'll still have the outer barrel and everything else still attached to it, and if you're swapping the upper receiver too, you will need these).

All very simple though, and you won't have to mess with the gearbox at all.

Thanks FreeSpace for your reply still. Still looking for a compatability answer, although I was sort of looking for a how to (to confirm I was correct).

check out Nosforatoos' post (towards the bottom) where he states what was necessary to fit his G&G upper into his G&P lower.
