Compatibility check before I buy everything! Please look :D

Postby matteumayo » Tue Oct 05, 2010 9:16 pm

So I recently bought a KWA G36c, and am looking to upgrade the accuracy and range, about to the extent of an MG36.

These are all of the items I am hoping to buy, and I was wondering if there were any compatibility issues, or if you know of any better deals then please tell me!

Here it is:

G&P G36 Handguard and front set: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gandp-g36-handguard-front-set-for-marui-g36c.html

EDIT: PROMETHEUS 8) Tightbore barrel (509mm):http://www.airsoftoutletnw.com/index.php/Shop-by-Airsoft-Rifle-Type/Mk36-Airsoft-Guns/Mk36-Airsoft-Parts-and-Accessories/Prometheus-509mm-6.03mm-Stainless-Steel-Tightbore-Barrel-for-Air.html

Hop-up upgrade: EDIT: NOT NEEDED ANYMORE :D

Spring: I was wondering if anyone knew of a high quality spring that will achieve roughly 400 to 450fps with these upgrades!

All in all it will cost around $250, including shipping and AONW installing everything.

P.S: Will it cost any more than the standard $40 for this amount of work?

Thanks!!!

Those should all fit, but I suggest a Matrix 6.03 509 TBB and KWA 2GX bucking instead. My Matrix barrel performs better (consistency wise) than my Madbull barrel, and the 2GX bucking works wonders.

Thanks for the good news and quick feedback!

I searched the Matrix barrel, and have seen some mixed reviews as compared to Madbull. :?

Perhaps you could provide a link to them? :o

EDIT:

Also, what do you mean get the hop-up Bucking instead?

Isn't a spacer and bucking two different parts? They look quite a bit different.

Also it says that KWA 2GX Buckings come installed in KWAs anyway, so would I already have one? 8)

Yes, the bucking and hop-up nub are different.

If it is the newer KWA g36 then it should already have the 2GX bucking, which is similar to Fireflys v shaped design which is supposed to help consistency.

But because the bucking has the V shaped groove already, you won't need the Polarstar concave spacer (the concave spacer does the same thing as the bucking, using the groove the concaveness of the hop-up nub creates to put equal spin on both sides of the bb for more accurate, consistent shots).

Basically, just get the Matrix barrel and G&P hand guard.

Thanks G36FTW.

Can anyone answer the other questions I have? (which spring, AONW tech pricing)

Also, would it be better to go the extra mile for a Prometheus or EDGi?

They're quite spendy, but if its really worth it I'll save for one.

If not, could somebody provide a link for the Matrix barrel? I can't find it :x

By the way, if you're making a full-length G36, you need to change your stock as well - the C stock is shorter than the G36/G36E stock.

Yes, they are quite a good investment IF you have the money. (always an if ;))

Thats if you are very nit-pickey.

Right now Ares is the only company that makes the correct stock for them, and unfortunately I haven't been able to find the stocks being hold separately.

How much shorter are we talking? If it's not anything too noticeable I could probably save a couple bucks and stick with the C stock. Maybe I should grab one of these babies:

EDIT: G36 FTW seems to have answered my question! :D

Anyone on the spring?

P.S: This thread is like in some sort of time-warp with all of these edits happening :3

The G&P stocks are great, just beware you will need to do a wee bit of soldering if you get one.

And BTW, ASGI's price for that stock is ridiculous, try Redwolf.

And will I be a monkey's uncle! No-one will ever guess what I just found..

Thanks! Nice find btw :]

Again, any answers for the spring??? lol

Also, would I HAVE to re-wire for that stock? Or could I use it just for aesthetics :D

Thanks, and just wondering, are you planning on using this rifle at games? Because the FPS limit is usually 400fps. Otherwise:

And yup, airsoft is 50% about looking badass. I did the same thing, but after a while I decided to rear wire it because of the extra battery space.

Thanks!

I read that having a 450 fps spring in a TBB ups it by about 10%, which would be 500fps :S

Is that correct? Also, I plan on attending The Farm Sunday events, will they not allow me for being like 20 fps above limits?

Usually a tight bore will increase fps by 10fps, not 10%.

And usually events allow you to slide in at 410fps maximum; if I were you I would just keep your current spring, which knowing KWA is probably around 400fps already.

I wouldn't change the spring on a KWA. Having a slightly lower FPS isn't a bad thing and will increase the life of your GB.

The only issue with that is that the guy I bought it from replaced the spring. Luckily he still left the old spring in the box, so I'll just ask AONW to pop that in :D
