G&P M4 midcap mag problems

Postby Electric Sponge » Thu Oct 21, 2010 8:30 am

I've been having feeding issues with my m4 and after figuring out it wasn't the gun itself I looked at the mags and saw that the bb's were doubling up inside of the mag side by side. The mags are G&P 120 metal midcaps. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Sometimes using some silicone in the mag can help, but sometimes it's just the way the insides of the mag are designed that makes it do that. Another thing you might do is pop the insides of the mag out of the shell, and make sure the plastic halves are screwed together tight, especially at the top. BB pressure can push the sides apart, giving the BBs enough room to jam.

You might try only loading 90-100 rounds, too.

Well I've already tried under-loading the mag and that didn't help. It's definitely the problem of bb's doubling up, but their doing it about a third of the way down the mag. I tried spraying some silicon but that really didn't help much so now I've loaded up a couple and sprayed some silicon in them and I'm going to let them sit and see if that helps.

They're G&P brand too. It sounds like they're designed to have the bb's double up so I'm not really sure where to go from here. Anyone else have experience with G&P midcaps?

The BBs are supposed to partially double so they fit more in. They're not supposed to go so far that they jam together.

I've found that many of my old G&P mags did that, and I never fixed them. I bought CA midcap mags instead.

I used to use lowcap BB loader on those G&P mags, I have found they jammed if i force/push the bbs in with a highcap loader (500+).

A couple of my G&P mags do that, but they usually do it towards the end of the ammo so its not like I'm missing out on any rounds. A good slap on the side of it should get them to unstick and get back to the top.
