Opinions on barrel length/tightness = Accuracy/Range?

Been reading stuff about how barrel length and tightness really doesn't matter with accuracy and range which is hard to believe. Tightness I can see as an fps boost which SHOULD give it more range, but people are even say fps doesn't matter now?

wtf. my whole airsoft life is a lie.

In my opinion, theres a certain length of barrel where accuracy/range doesn't improve much most likely. Because even if my pistol had a PDI barrel, I doubt it would reach/have same groupings as my m4. It's just the concept of getting enough air behind the bb to propel it. I'm thinking the tighter it is it's a more powerful shot, but it bounces/catches alot. The less tight it is, the more air is around the bb, somewhat cushioning it so it doesn't hit the barrel as much, being more "true".

As for the fps part, I can kind of see how it would work, most likely just the quality of barrel and the hopup affect range (example being TM).
But with the proper hopup adjusted, and bb's I just don't see how a 350fps gun and a 600fps gun can carry a .3 bb the same distance. Possibly it's inaccuracies get exaggerated when firing at a higher velocity, traveling to it's flawed path faster?

As for me I did realize that something was off.
I went to summer slaughter with my sr5 w/ a 363 6.03 barrel and m120 spring. Before the matches me and a bud were testing out max distances under the apple orchard trees (so we couldn't aim too high) . With his UTG L96 (about 525fps w/ upgrade kit, stock barrel, .3s) he could hit me at 300feet. When I tested out my gun, I got the SAME distance, possibly even more accurately than his sniper. When I chronoed my gun I realized it was 440fps, luckily I brought my stock spring and switched them out 'real quick' before we started the games, re chronoed and was shooting 365.
After 7 people passed out from heat exhaustion and a few games later, things started to die down a bit so I tested my distance again with my new spring. To my surprise, it was shooting the SAME distance, but with a higher ROF. I was shooting .25s for reference except when I chronoed.

So i'm a believer to a point

I just tested out bb distances, that I can believe alot more easily with kinetic energy. Tested .25's vs .28's of the same brand, had to turn up hopup all the way @365fps to make .28s go strait, so if I washed my bb's and probably rewashed my bucking I most likely could make .28s hop a little and go alot farther than .25's (right now they go about the same distance, just .28's are a bit more accurate)
